  1. we can't eye test any other skill, but we can do so for speed? Vlad may be faster than smoak, but I don't think he's average speed.
  2. The Jays don't need to sign Stro for his vet presence. I actually think that's laughable. We need to sign stroman, because he's a good pitcher and he wants to stay.
  3. Who is going to be in the starting rotation on these teams that compete for the next 7 years we have Vlad?
  4. I said he was lucky, not a fip beater. There’s no such thing.
  5. Sanchez has had a lucky career. His era has always been well below his fip and xfip. I’m a big fan of lucky sanchez.
  6. He used the words horse shoes up the ****. Odd choice of words for someone you are pulling for
  7. Why do you guys actively cheer against a guy who plays for the jays
  8. He kind of slid into his leg that was planted, but the defender's leg was in front of the base. I'm glad they overturned it. That was sloppy fundamentals by Profar.
  9. The Jays have a tonne of money to spend. It's not easy getting free agents to come to Toronto. It's time to start extending guys like Stroman and Giles instead of rolling the dice on guys like Pivetta. Pivetta could turn things around, or he might just prove he's more of a number 5 than a number 2 or 3. There's far less risk with Stroman. I'd easily extend him for 3 or 4 years.
  10. Vlad just looks like a guy who will never strike out. I had to look up senior's stats after the game. Vlad Sr. struck out 10.8% for his career and in his best full season he struck out 6.2% of the time. That's insane for a guy who was known as a free swinger.
  11. time to extend the stro show.
  12. this team just seems instantly more watchable. Jr is such a dangerous looking hitter.
  13. what are you talking about? That is not accurate and overly critical.
  14. man grichuk can be frustrating to watch when he's not in a hot streak...
  15. it's rare to have your breakout season in your age 33 season...lol
  16. it varies, but if we hold him down for 65ish service days he will not get super 2 status and we will only have to pay him 3 years of arbitration. I would argue that if he's killing it over the next 3 weeks and we still have guys floundering at the big league level that he should be brought up and get a few extra bucks.
  17. there was no reason to keep him down in AA all last year. He is an older player and if he's earned an early call up and get's super 2 and a few extra bucks, sometimes it's good to do the right thing for the player. If he's killing it and would perform better at the big league level than Drury, why would you keep him in the minors?
  18. Biggio has had 69 plate appearances. He could go 0 for his next 31 and his OBP would still be .360! He had 45 plate appearances in spring training showing the same approach. He took his walks, showed some pop. That's 115 plate appearances. If you combine spring and the start of the season the sample size isn't all that small. In 50 more plate appearances if Biggio's numbers don't fall a whole bunch, the kid should be given a shot.
  19. I don't know why they haven't put him in the corner outfield positions yet.
  20. That's in the PCL. Biggio has a 1.158 OPS and that's in Buffalo! I feel bad for Biggio. He was slow played last year and could have easily been moved up to AAA. This year he's picked up right where he left off. The guy is 24 years old. He deserves to be brought up and be a super 2. Shatkins has a man crush on Gurriel and Drury and it's screwing Biggio over.
  21. It's going to be tough for Biggio to challenge for anything when he comes up in August. Maybe Rowdy...lol
