  1. I’m guilty. Alford just looks like he should be good at baseball lol. I hope he can turn it around but it’s not looking so good right now!
  2. So he put up a 3.3 WAR in the 2 full seasons he played. I'm making the assessment that he is improving as a pitcher as good pitchers often do when they figure things out and enter their prime. At the end of the season when Stroman has put a good season, good luck in extending him when you offer him 3 years 33 mil for his free agent years. If Stroman isn't a 3.5 win pitcher, would you like to put a friendly wager on whether Stroman puts up 4.5 FWAR season or not. That should be easy money for you.
  3. 5 and 80 is is recency bias? Stroman is on pace to win the Cy Young. If I was going off recency bias I would have put an AAV of 30 mil on the guy. You can't ignore the start of the season either. Stroman is throwing less 2 seamers and is still growing as a pitcher. The kid put up a 3.4 win season in 130 innings. He had a full season's putting up 3.4 and 3.2 wins and last year he battled with injuries. If we can't pay Stroman 80 over 5 we're never going to get even a second tier free agent let alone a top tier free agent. Toronto like many markets is already at a market plus 10% for premium free agents, because they want to play elsewhere.
  4. Where exactly are those reports? You have a link?
  5. I also don't see who the f*** we're ever going to sign. You have to overpay for premium free agents, and being in Toronto you have to pay even more. We have nothing on the books and desperately need free agent pitching and there's not a whole lot of good free agents hitting the market over the next few years.
  6. 80 is 16 AAV for 5 years. He's better than Eovaldi who got 17.5 just this off season. If stroman has a career year and puts up a 5.5 win season his asking price will go up. I said in the off season we should sign him and 14 might have been the number. You can't discount the start he is off to. It's hard to see guys like Cobb out there getting almost 15 a year and not expect to get a little bit higher with an extra year.
  7. Might be a tad high but I think the best is yet to come. I think stroman is a 3.5+ win pitcher. Maybe 5 and 80 is more like it. Not much less
  8. The joys of fatherhood. Looks like I’ll be watching jays in 30 to see the end of this one
  9. wtf was that 92 down the middle....keep it away
  10. so that was the game winning single...f*** off new york.
  11. replay guy must have played short.....f*** off..close enough...he's out..lol
  12. just bring up biggio and play him in the outfield....no more hansen or Brito please.
  13. so is the probability increased only if the bunt is successfully completed, or are you saying calling for a bunt with none out and a runner at 2nd will increase the expectancy of getting one run vs letting the batter hit away. Even when you call for a sacrifice, a player will not always execute and will record and not at advance the runner say 15 percent of the time or whatever it is, or even worse bunt it back to the pitcher and have the runner thrown out at third. I don't really care that much and certainly don't care enough to look it up, but you guys seem like fat kids in a smartie factory when discussing this topic, so I thought I would further your fun.
  14. So it's agreed then. 4 year extension for Stro with an option for a 5th year!
  15. Did sogard not play with glasses in years past?
  16. I feel like I'm on the show punked....how is this possible.
  17. he has a grand slam against a lefty this year.
