  1. We didn't get Stripling for nothing. I'm guessing we gave up some half way decent players or guys with upside.
  2. I'm assuming he starts, but if we use him out of the pen can we just play the wild thing song with the crowd noise from Major League when he enters.
  3. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that 3HR per 9 is going to come down...lol.
  4. Hey Robbie...welcome to the Jays...PS get your ass to Miami...You're starting tomorrow...lol
  5. so who's starting tomorrow?
  6. I honestly don't know how he is still employed.
  7. If only we had Villar to pinch run.....nice AB by Rowdy none the less.
  8. He gave up a weak ground ball on a 96 mile an hour fastball right on the outer edge of the strike zone. It was actually a very good pitch. The sharp single caught a bit more of the plate, but it wasn't a meatball either. He didn't pitch bad at all really.
  9. The only way to "fix his swing" it to give him regular at bats. That means no at bats for Rowdy. You basically have to choose one or the other. Either that, or he's here to be a power bat on the bench for pinch hitting and he'll take the occasional start at DH.
  10. So the nerds say don't let chase anderson pitch the order the third time throw, but let Font who batters were hitting .370 against take that ball against the top of the order? Even if I would agree with taking Anderson out, Font wasn't the right guy to take the ball. He had 2 line drives to the warning track that were caught. We were really lucky to only give up 1.
  11. I'm really glad we have Font up to face the top of the lineup.
  12. I'd trade Manoah, McGuire and a wild card for Lynn.
  13. There's a good chance he won't be healthy either....probably Ray or Walker at this point. I'm hopefully Pearson is back to take that game 2. A lot of pressure for a rookie with 4 starts.
  14. A fine trade and since we didn't spend anything to get him, we should still be in on Lynn, right?
  15. so who starts game 2 of a playoff series for us?
  16. so the marlins gave us Villar and they acquired Marte.
  17. I could be talked into to Bundy, but you're right. Without knowing the asking price for Bundy or Lynn it's tough to really say what to do until they are traded and you basically know the price. Clevinger's price was way to rich for my blood.
  18. I'm way more aggressive and willing to spend prospect capital, but that's gross. Even I wouldn't do that.
  19. Those Padres are spending and making the market more expensive....lol
  20. Minor's FIP the last 3 years is 4.4ish. Lynn's is 3.5. If I'm going to go cheaper, I'd rather roll the dice on Bundy. He's always had plus stuff. He may have actually figured something out this year. If I couldn't get Bundy or Lynn I'd just pass on Minor and try and upgrade 3rd base.
  21. Minor doesn't move the needle on competing this year. Lynn put up 6.8 wins last year. 1.3 wins this year. He's a legit number 2 who's under control for 9 mil next year. Losing Groshans leaves up with Martin, Martinez and Hiraldo. Losing Manoah leaves us with Pearson, Hatch, Kay, merryweather, SWR, Kloff, Van Eyk. We have Bo and Cavan who are pretty much locked in for 5 more years. Ryu is locked in and Lynn would give be locked in next year. We'd have a crap ton of money to sign a pitcher this off season or the next with a very attractive team to lure free agents. I think Lynn would really move the needle in the off season if we wanted to get a Realmuto or a free agent pitcher.
