  1. Why isn't kirk the answer? The kid doesn't strike out and he hits the ball hard. Even early when his numbers were crap, he wasn't striking out. It was only a matter of time that he broke out.
  2. I'm not saying he was bad tonight. He hit his spots and was very good. I'm saying show me that over 15 starts. This was probably the best start he'll have all year.
  3. Any pitcher can dominate in one game when he has his best stuff, especially when balls get his 109 off the bat and find a glove instead of leaving the yard or at least getting you double.
  4. Irv sucks balls...the next team he faces will get 6 off him.
  5. There's no reason he shouldn't start against Houston in 5 days.
  6. Pearson done...3.2 gave up a run 8Ks...left bases loaded. In his final inning he gave up a double and a single, got a K and ground out. Then walked a batter on 6 pitches. 5 of which pitch trax had as strikes. Gave up a bases loaded single on a infield single that didn't make it to the short stop. Should have got out of the 4th with another K and no runs. 78 pitches, what should have been 9 Ks in 4 innings. He should be pitching with the Jays in 5 days.
  7. Another K for Pearson. The strike zone has been really tight for both pitchers if pitch trax is accurate. Nate has had quite a few strikes called balls and he's still steam rolling.
  8. Nate's struck out 5 through 2 innings, giving up one hit. You can tune in and 5 days and Nate will be pitching with the Jays.
  9. I'm listening to buffalo. Big Nate 3 up 3 down 2ks in the first. https://920espnnewjersey.com/listen-live/
  10. Panik and Espinal are both very similar hitters in that neither strike out much. Espinal is a much better defender though. I'm ready to see a run of Espinal. He may have a bit more pop in his bat than I expect. With the lefty on tonight, he should get the start.
  11. No pitcher should ever be mad at a player when the ball his hit off the top of the wall. It could have been caught. It wasn't routine. Another 3 feet and it would have been a home run.
  12. Suck for the kid and the team! Time for Jansen to step up and build off last night.
  13. He wouldn't be in Oakland if he wasn't going to play. This is just load management. I thought you Toronto sports fans would be used to this after a year with Kawhi.
  14. He had a grade 2 oblique strain. They never said what grade his quad issue was. He's clearly not 100% healthy. He slipped out of the box. They did the smart thing and pulled him out. If he had badly re-injured himself he wouldn't have stayed on the bench. I'm guessing he's back tomorrow or the next day.
  15. His bat has been ho hum. He went through a tough stretch, like everyone else. In this game alone his wRC+ jumped from 89 to 102. Just a reminder it's early and numbers can change fast. His defense and base running has been good all year though. I still think he can be 15 to 20% better than league average with the bat for the year. He's on a hot streak headed in the right direction.
  16. that was a perfect bunt. With his speed even if you were playing in, he would have made it. Thank god...I thought that was out.
  17. Anderson is a good pitcher...we really do look scary.
  18. Danny's now batting 1 for 2 .500 with the nerd glasses. They have to stay!
