  1. ah so you're the one behind that Fire Shapiro instagram page full of posts like the one blasting the Happ signing
  2. They're leading the AL in attendance lol
  3. Q. Can I purchase additional seats? No. Due to the significant increase in the number of Season Ticket Holders, we are not able to offer our Season Ticket Holders with the right to purchase additional Postseason seats.
  4. They've said from Day 1 that there was no guarantee Flex Pack holders would have access to playoff seats. Everybody who bought a flex pack this year was told that so if there is outrage the fans only have themselves to blame.
  5. better go back and check pitch trax again then. They were right on the corner
  6. Roy Halladay Short rest: 3.47 ERA (48.2 ip) Normal rest: 3.74 ERA (1108.1 ip) Extra rest: 2.97 ERA (596 ip)
  7. Derek Lowe on pitching better if you're tired "Lowe: I don’t believe in that. I would much rather pitch at full strength. You still need your legs under you, and you still need your arm in the right arm slot. If you get too tired, your ball doesn’t move anymore. I promise you. They should do that on the show Myth Busters, because it’s not true."
  8. you still didnt address my point whatsoever. His pitches weren't mistakes
  9. Care to elaborate? He wasn't missing any of his pitches. He hit his spots, the Astros just stayed back and drove the ball the other way. f*** Altuve just stuck his bat out there on a half swing. If he made the same pitches yesterday they would have been hit the same way
  10. yeah rest has absolutely nothing to do with it
  11. They have the perfect approach against him
  12. Bobcat on the air yesterday: "If I offer Bautista a contract, I offer him no more than 16 Million, no more than 1 year" Where to start
  13. italicize offensively
  14. Thats what this whole thing was about, a player returning an overpayment (i.e. being available for the right price) you basically just confirmed my entire argument with the bolded. I've said 2 times, in 2 different posts that this is, in fact, not about them actively shopping Happ whatsoever, so I'm not sure why you would say that. As for Pillar, the only value he has is defence, position players play on both sides of the ball so thats where the confusion came from. I agree he's a valuable player, however getting into his late 20's his speed is going to start to decline, and the defence will follow. I think he's got a few good years left in him, but once again for the right price I think he's pretty expendable.
  15. Ok first of all, never refer to Pillar as a "core" player offensively. Thats just hilarious. Coming into this season 13 teams in the AL thought they were going to "contend." Tampa and maybe Minnesota were the only teams coming in that never really had a shot. The Padres thought they were contenders last year. The white sox this year. Hell look at the 2013 Jays. There's being good, but every team strives for long term sustainable success. Not just a kick in the bucket 2 year run. The new regime has already talked about having one eye on now and one eye on the future. How the hell can you say you don't subscribe to fans wanting to get younger? You can't compete without having young players on your team making near league minimum. With a team of 25 guys you constantly need young players coming in and contributing in order to fill out a contending roster. Do you not realize how much the guys you mentioned make? Filling out a roster full of vets is too expensive. It's not feasible. For a catcher 33 is absolutely aging. Martin's production (offensively and defensively) has taken a huge dip this season. He isn't cheap either. It's not unreasonable to expect the same thing from Tulo in the coming years. I absolutely agree with you that this team can contend next season even if all our FA's leave, never said they couldn't. Probably the best part of your entire post though, is that the entire core, and every single player that you mentioned for this team to succeed next year, you didn't include Happ. Nobody is saying throw him on the trade block. But if a team is going to be stupid and overpay with promising young players that could help you for the next decade, you do it.
  16. 2 way street. Happ could pitch to 4.80 ERA with matching peripherals next season and you'd be kicking yourself for turning down a top 25 prospect
  17. What? In the offseason no team is contending anymore its a clean slate. This roster is aging and about to go through massive turnover. It's not like they will be actively shopping Happ, but IF a team is willing to give up a big time prospect or two, you have to seriously consider that. Pitching can be extremely unpredictable, Happ could pitch to an ERA that matches his xFIP next season. The pirates are in a playoff race and just sold high on Melancon
  18. If you can get a return like the one Dickey got you do it every time
  19. http://www.rotoworld.com/images/headshots/MLB/7824.jpg How the hell is this guy 21 years old? He could pass as 40
  20. Sorry if this has been answered but what happened to Harold Ramirez? Is he hurt?

  22. I just think this whole situation took an unexpected turn and it's all a huge question mark. It was reported he was asking for 5/150 but never confirmed. Now obviously he won't get anywhere close to that, but if that was his original mindset how much is he willing to drop? If it wasn't, and he only ever seeking say 4/100, how much would he drop from that? He's as stubborn as they come, so will he even change his mindset at all? Additionally, how is the rest of the year gonna play out? How many games will he even play from here on out? Does he get hurt again? Does he continue his weak 114 wRC+ pace in his limited remaining games? No disrespect to you, and my original post wasnt directed soley at you, it was a generalization. I get you're just speculating, you're a good poster. There are just so many questions yet to be answered and so many unknowns I think its impossible to say definitely no he wont take this and yes he would take that. Hell there's a chance he accepts a QO at this point. Not much of one, but its there
  23. hey now, lets take a step back before we stereotype here. There are douche's at all universities
  24. wrong thread f*** me. Mods delete
  25. Think i read somewhere 16.7 was agreed upon Edit- check that, might be 17m
