  1. Anthony Bass: best reliever moved at the deadline?
  2. Vlad would be on a 25 year $180M contract if AA was here right now.
  3. I don't know how accurate the Batted Ball numbers on Fangraphs are for the minor leagues, but Orelvis looks like an extreme pop-up guy. His infield flyball rate is 26.3% and was similar last year. Only a single qualified batter is above 20% in the majors this year and the league average is 10.2% Orelvis must have some massive holes in his swing right now. Here's an old fangraphs article I found on popups: https://blogs.fangraphs.com/hitter-traits-that-causes-infield-fly-balls/
  4. Missed call there but the ump has been pretty excellent on calling some real close pitches tonight imo
  5. Yeah I was thinking the same thing haha
  6. Just awful watching Springer right now. I know he got a single but he's literally just trying to get his foot down early and take a one-armed slap at the ball. I doubt he puts up a wRC+ above 90 for the rest of the season if this is how every game is going to be. Go on the IL. No point waiting until the offseason to get the Tommy John surgery.
  7. In September and beyond I'd rather Spencer Horwitz be taking the Collins spot on the roster.
  8. Sources: Merrifield and Vladdy are getting married. Whit gains Canadian citizenship and drops the vaccine requirement to enter the country. Merrifield expected to play during the next Blue Jays homestand.
  9. Deck McGuire might have a few innings in him. Get the entire 2010 draft class back together.
  10. Kikuchi-san is going to run amok on the league now that his bully is gone.
  11. C I mostly like the moves they made but no big splashes. Don't get the A votes
  12. Well this tweet is several hours old as Mahle was already traded. Wouldn't put much stock in it.
  13. Bass is weird. 4-seamer slider guy at the start of his career. Then suddenly starts throwing a splitter 20% of the time. Was a sinker/slider guy with the Blue Jays in 2020 getting 62% groundballs, mostly scrapping the splitter. Now he throws sliders almost 60% of the time.
  14. Montas would have been nice but if Morosi is linking him to the Blue Jays it must not be a real rumour.
  15. wtf Tabler is on the Peacock broadcast
  16. I remember he had Banda in a game he shouldn't have. I think some others I don't remember the specifics of.
  17. Lots of questionable bullpen by Schneider during his tenure.
  18. Yeah. I'm just wondering if the hit and run factored into that ugly swing.
  19. Does Bichette swing at that if the hit and run isn't on? Could have had a walk and two runners on. Instead it's a double play
  20. 2006 was the first year I watched the Blue Jays. We had just got satellite tv and I guess my dad put on the season opener. I remember it was Halladay vs. Johan Santana. Super quick game. Both pitchers might have went the distance but I'm not sure. I think I remember in the post-game they said there were no walks in the game. I think I watched virtually every inning of the remainder of the season. It was actually a pretty fun team.
  21. I didn't post too much on the mlb.com forums but I think my account was from 2009
  22. It has literally been over a decade since he was traded.
  23. Gurriel just tied Frank Catalanotto at 6. Catalanotto's game was in 2004 against the White Sox
  24. Maybe JBJ's. Vazquez's was a 93 mph exit velocity squeaker
  25. 5.61 FIP 0.23 xFIP 66.7 HR/FB% .500 BABIP Some HRs skewing an awesome Gausman performance!
