With the offense hit or miss the pitching has to really pick it up . Bullpen included. Still hope but they have to go on a run soon

Obviously a message being sent here but at this point there isn't room for Pillar in the majors. Lind and EE back and Reimold, Valencia/ Fransisco on the bench I wonder who goes down when EE returns. I suspect it will be Gose.

Right now I think we will probably be around 86 wins which is the average of all the predictions. No one would have predicted the Bull Pen implosion that cost us a lot of wins. Had this team,s bullpen been as good as last years i think in spite of the injuries we would be in first place in the East. Seems like this team just can't get all areas going in a single year. This year Bullpen woes. last year rotation and defense.

The much hated Happ puts up another very good start. Unlike others on this board I admit when I'm wrong . He has been a good 5th starter for us and much as I wanted him gone all off season and in the early going it is a damn good thing AA held on to him.

I not going to say that I'm not disappointed . I expected some help for the BP at least. I did not expect a big move. I am disappointed that the money wasn't available . Rogers talked the talk ,with Pelly basically stating AA had money when it is pretty obvious he didn't. Still the one huge playoff hole this team has is a #1 starter and I agree with AA , I wasn't willing to pay the price. I really liked the Reimold move and Vallencia will help,so with all the DL guys coming back I think we play some exciting games in September and the farm is intact. Without a number 1 this team wasn't going far in the playoffs anyway without a lot of luck I had expectations this year of an 85 win season and with health and Luck some meaningful games in Sept and it looks like I'm getting that.

Red Sox are going to be in a 40 man roster crunch this off season. They have some decent prospects that they will either have to add or expose to the rule 5 draft. Any deal they make will be for prospects that don't have to be added to the 40 man.

Lots of rumors but since the Jays have NO MONEY I seriously doubt they make a move . AA seems to be backing away by promoting the guys coming back off the DL. The way Kawasaki has played at 2nd base I don't see how the upgrade would be worth the cost in prospects as that would be higher since any team in a deal would have to eat most of the remaining salary.

Nice to see Happ break his good game bad game streak with a decent 5th starter showing . Sanchez vultures a win and as always Casey slams the door . Huge SB by Bautista and while Navarro is probably the most out of shape player in the league his bat has been OK. Think what he could do if he was in shape.

Note the fact the Padres were paying all his salary. Yanks got him for the two players but only 1 mil of salary relief. That makes me think those low end prospects were probably Low A or rookie league studs. Headley for Fransisco I would have done in an instant hoping he would rake in the AL

I still blame the s***** development dept for the woes of the 07 draft class.

We broke the streak so I'm think Happ can break his hapless every 2nd start streak. Yanks have such a poor bench that they have to start 4lefties.

The cost of any player that could improve this rotation is going to be so damn high I'm not sure I'm willing to pay it . Crazy to move a Sanchez and no way they even think of moving Stroman . Hutch has had his struggles but he is young ,and s*** like that happens. It will piss me off if we move a key asset with all these guys coming back off the DL.

And this is why you don't deal these guys . His stuff is such that if he gains even average command of his pitches and a decent change he will be a 3/4 starter and if he doesn't well he could be a Rodney type closer but FFS 2 innings and suddenly he is the 2nd coming of Halladay . i would have left him in AAA and not wasted an option year.

2innings of relief after half this board wanted him traded and everyone goes ape s***. I suppose when he walks in runs the next time it will be back to trade him now time. Good to see the initial success and I hope it continues but right now Stroman is far better and probably always will be. I just hope he can get fastball command and be a starter. Better he was called up in Sept. And we didn't waste an option but since we have I can only hope it helps his development.

Yea but he didn't say hit for a decent average. Sub Mendosa line must be Pat,s version of learning to hit.
