  1. Who on this board was even old enough or followed the Jays when Riccardi was GM . AA has traded away more farm talent than JPR ever drafted in his tenure as GM . HE gutted a decent scouting dept cause he wanted to do all the work by computer. That lead to a bottom 3 farm system for years that took AA two years to rebuild . We have twice as much talent on the farm even after all the trades than JPR ever drafted. AA deserves to build this team and if He could have control instead of Rogers and Beeston would build a winner. Put Grass in Rogers Center and you might be able to attract some free agent hitters but why would a pitcher want to come here. AA needs to develop them and he has.
  2. THEY WERE DOING WHAT THEY WERE TOLD . The money was obviously NOT there . Rogers did not want to tell fans that they spent all their money on Hockey so they told them to lie.
  3. Why ? As a scapegoat for Beeston,s stupidity ?
  4. I'm assuming sarcasm . Controllable cheap pitching is always valuable but since few FAs will come here we have to keep our own.
  5. Biggest disappointment has been the bull pen. Would love for them to go on a win streak enough right now to make for some interesting games in September but all parts of their game seems to be misfiring right now .
  6. FFS you keep promising us you will leave so f***ing LEAVE
  7. Kid isn't hitting his spots and the HBP seemed to have screwed him up . get jenkins up cause we can hit the WS
  8. 180 isn't too bad but i thought the increase was 30 per year . BTW Sent you an offer . Was it that bad or did you not get it.
  9. The Riccardi era drafted poorly and had even shittier development people. JPR was the worst GM in the history of the Jays and yes worst than Gord Ash
  10. Facts are that if you have 10 decent pitching prospects n the minors less than half will become major league pitchers. The reason to believe in Norris is scouts rate him so high and he has succeeded at high levels in the minors. The issue I have is his innings limit next year. proper development means he comes up to the majors being able to go 180 to 200 innings
  11. Pretty much what I expected. Hope they told him to work on his bunting and reading pitchers moves. guy has to get bunt singles and steal bases to get on the plus side of WAR.
  12. Reimold was out of options which is why the O,s had to release him after his DL slot was up. They opted to go with Pierce who was killing it at the time. Reimold has some talent but can't stay healthy. Good RHB on the bench and 4th OF IF you have two CFs starting. I have to believe Pillar has an option left. I know he is no hell and I have never been a Pillar fan but he is all we have at this point.
  13. Because he is there till Pompey shows up and Gose needs a platoon partner. he gets the space till a trade happens.
  14. Believe what you want and Moot point anyway. Looking back and bitching about past trades takes up way too much space on this board.
  15. Wow your Glass is really MT. Who would push that do you think. Rogers forced the last one. Now that they have hockey i don't think it happens again . Beeston will be gone I'm sure and AA if he is around will do it right.
  16. If Rasmus is on this team next year I will be pissed. When you have NO money and holes he is very replaceable. Time for a Gose/Pillar platoon
  17. While Rogers and Beeston are probably that stupid ,I honestly don't think AA is. If ownership and Accountants stick to their job and let AA run the club then I think they dismantle at the deadline if we are out of it. He didn't gut the minors this year when everyone was screaming for him to do something.
  18. Reimold if healthy should give you an OPS of 800 + Trouble is he has had only 1 healthy season. You would have to platoon him occasionally and it just doesn't work to have so many platoons . Melky is the best option out there but I suspect someone will give him a 4/48 type deal. Are you willing to do That?
  19. Well your glass can be half empty or half full. most don't remember the Riccardi days when the farm system was totally bare. Hell AA had traded more and better prospects than JPR ever drafted and still has more on the farm.
  20. Well you either sell high or as I would suggest see what you have and if not sell at the deadline. Still value in those guys and you could get some very nice pieces back at the deadline if you aren't there. Thing is to cut your losses at the deadline if you are 4 or 5 games out. As for money , Morrow, Rasmus, Happ, Santos ,and possibly Melky and Jansen will all be gone . Bull pen will require a closer if Casey leaves and if Melky leaves you will need an OF unless you go with Reimold in left and Gose/Pillar in center. Plenty of money since not many free agents will play here.
  21. Team was expected to win somewhere between 82 to 86 wins. We expected the bull pen to be as lights out as they were last year. That the team will probably win around 83+ games with a bull pen that didn't live up to the hype seems pretty good . Instead of always dealing on the negative aspects of the year i look at the positives. Stroman emerged and Hutch shows signs of being quality starters. Melky came back from a Tumor on his spine . A frigging TUMOR. Come back player of the year IMO. The farm showed some very interesting prospects develop. Gose and Pillar as a platoon should be able to handle an OF spot. Sanchez is getting his feet wet and has shown he can at least be a high leverage reliever.Happ proving all of us wrong ( where did the 94 come from ) Bench looks solid for next year. Lots to be positive about after last years ugliness
  22. You keep telling us your gone .how about just doing what you say your going to.
  23. Dickey did his job even thou his knuckler wasn't sharp but the offense is just in a terrible funk.
