    Sanchez could still turn out to be the best of all of them other maybe than Alvarez who has reached higher than his expected ceiling . i think of Randy Johnson,s early career, the Expos traded him because they never thought he would throw enough strikes.

    This team isn't trading Dickey or any other piece on the MLB roster right now thus like Spanky said this thread is dumb. Certainly if your out of it at the deadline then fine trade a bunch of the old vets , gut the team and rebuild with the key pieces you get back. BUT the team is in FIRST place Absolute stupidity to think this team will trade him

    I agree the conclusion that he is declining badly is probably wrong and it is because of injury BUT. That stats used aren,t. As Moogy points out the back injury has hugely affected his performance and he isn't worth trading for.

    Since very few like me do NOT want to gut our minor league system anymore then the alternative is a salary dump . Weeks is one but his defense sucks and cost is huge . Headley has a back injury and is hitting 178 since coming off the DL. Prado is the other one. Hits lefties well, plays good defense, good in the clubhouse,plays 2nd and 3rd, but comes with a huge salary. Cost in prospects would depend on how much the Snakes are willing to eat of that 11 mil for 2 and 1/2 more years. Now if Rogers were looking long term they would eat more of the cost and keep the prospects . If the Snakes ate 2 mil a year a PTBNL should get him.

    What a way to kill a thread. In the interests of getting it back on track here is MLBTR. The Blue Jays haven’t shown any interest in Brewers second baseman Rickie Weeks since they’re looking to land a better defender at the keystone, CBS Sports’ Jon Heyman reports. (Similar defensive concerns were also the reason for Toronto’s lack of interest in Daniel Murphy, as Heyman reported over the weekend.) Weeks is hitting .263/.344/.463 in 90 PA against left-handed pitching this season, and would make sense on paper for a Jays team that is need of both second base help and a right-handed bat.

    Sox beat the yanks. in spite of our losing ways we still aren't any worse off cause the Yanks and O,s are just as bad.

    As long as no one gets stupid and trade away our young arms . When ever you deal a bunch of young arms odds are you trade the wrong one . We already did that once and I'll be pissed if we do that again . Pretty obvious no free agent pitchers want to come here.

    He has stated he will not waive his no trade clause. That said he may waive it to go somewhere he wants and that sure as hell WON"T be to Toronto. i don't even consider Utley as a candidate

    Rasmus will be gone . Morrow better be gone and Happ, Janssen/Santos will likely be gone . With the new posting system I highly doubt we ever get a top Japanese pitcher. We just have to develop our own . That said we could add a salary dump like Prado for nothing in prospects.

    I would be fine with Headly if the cost was right. Prado interests me as a salary dump that should cost nothing but money . Can Rogers look long term?

    I would agree with that if we were willing to gut the farm and add payroll. I'm not willing to do that. Sure we aren't going far without at least 1 pitcher stepping up . i know some are more than willing to totally gut the farm for a year and a half of the shark. Me I want salary dumps that cost little except money. Rogers probably won't do that . Still this is an age when people want now and f*** the consequences . Live for today right . Me ! I retired comfortably at age 54 so i can travel the world hunting and watching Baseball. I'd rather watch Norris and Sanchez pitch for the Jays

    I would suggest both are just speculation. As AA said there is a lot of BS getting printed right now. I just look at his defense on grass and think how horrible that would be on turf. I would rather just stay with Kawasaki . That is how bad I think his defense is.

    I trust Heyman more than that guy. This from MLBTR Jon Heyman of CBS Sports adds, also via Twitter, that while the Blue Jays are looking at second base options, they’re not considering Daniel Murphy of the Mets. Toronto is looking for more defense that Murphy offers at the position. It’s been reported that the Mets could extend Murphy rather than trade him. I examined what a Murphy extension might cost the Mets yesterday.

    I don't like deals more than 5 years personally and while Maeda may make sense i doubt the current payroll situation gets us a shot. I don't want to gut the farm system but if we are in first place after the allstar break I think you have to add some cheap pieces that are salary dumps.
