  1. I never come here anymore but i had to come back and read this thread. Wow it is so good for we stupid peons that do read this forum that there are f***ing smart obviously autistic *******s like you to stoop so low and inform the casual how to actually run a ball club. just can't believe companies like Rogers haven't hired someone from this board. Oh wait they had one like that already and JP riccardi totally failed.
  2. I have been bashed continually for my support of AA and the Jays front office. 90 % of this board has called for AA,s head for the last 2 years. he makes 3 moves and suddenly he is smart again. The thing I have always pointed out is they have drafted well, better than most teams. No team can make all these moves without drafting the prospects that make this possible. Now go get a starter and build a bull pen Alex
  3. I'm honestly not a Sandoval fan on a long term deal unless it has a weight clause in it. I do prefer to leave Lawrie at 3rd but the 2nd base options are really thin. Lawrie was on MLB radio after the Travis /Goins trade and he talked about how jerked around it felt moving back and forth. He emphasized how he is a 3rd baseman and is so happy he now can stay at 3rd. I will say we need a lefty bat and the panda has it.
  4. I'd much rather sign a Cuban 2nd baseman and keep Lawrie where he is. Has Olivera has any show cases. Any news on his health. Ang you heard anything? 6. Hector Olivera, 2b, Santiago De Cuba Olivera is out of Cuba and on his way to a major league contract. It’s somewhat surprising that he left, given that he turns 30 in April, has had serious health issues with blood flow that sidelined him for more than a year and kept him off the Cuban national team, and his dad is a former player on the national team. Like I said, Olivera was the most challenging player on this list to rank, because while he’s flashed exciting potential when healthy, there’s a lot of unknown regarding his health and present skill set. Yasmany Tomas is getting more attention right now because he’s closer to signing with a major league team, but had Tomas still been in Cuba at the time of these rankings, I would have put him behind Olivera (again, with the caveat that there’s a lot of uncertainty over Olivera). He’s one of the most fascinating players to follow this winter.
  5. Agreed and I think it still will happen if he doesn't get moved. Thole can be released after ST for 1/6 th of his salary I think. That would mean Navarro as back up , bench bat part time DH and if you have tons of money that isn't bad. I might add Thole has no where to go and could be sent down to AAA
  6. Rasmus and Lind had the rep of not giving 100 %. That has been out there for years. Dickey is not that type of guy and who gives a s*** if he is a loner as long as he isn't pissing off people spouting religion like a Gary Carter.
  7. I have no problem trading Dickey if they replace the 200 innings. Howarth talked about getting a bullpen piece back . ******** I want more than a bullpen piece. If Kendrick would waive his NO trade then that is a good deal for both teams. Kendrick would help himself too by playing most of his games in hitters parks in his walk year.
  8. Next year. Cubbies and rangers are out this year. Yankees are limited to nothing over 300 K for the next 2 years
  9. Where the hell is Jose Fernandez. If all the 2nd base options get cleared this year could that drive the price down on a guy like Hector Olivera. Moncada will get the huge payday. Frenandez is possibly the best option that can step in and play right now and Ibanez who will also be subject to bonus pools. Did Fernandez get out of Cuba? is he with some Mexican drug smugglers?or did his boat sink and he is swimming with the sharks.
  10. Andy Ibanez, the youngest player on Cuba’s 2013 World Baseball Classic roster, has left Cuba and will pursue a contract with a major league team, Baseball America has learned. Ibanez, who Baseball America last month ranked as the No. 8 prospect still in Cuba’s Serie Nacional, is a 21-year-old second baseman who scouts have followed for several years. Since Ibanez has just three seasons of experience in Serie Nacional, he will be subject to the bonus pools, so he won’t be afforded the same unrestricted free agency that recent top Cuban defectors Jose Abreu and Rusney Castillo had. Andy Ibanez 2 At 5-foot-10, 183 pounds, Ibanez doesn’t have one standout tool but he’s an athletic player who won a Gold Glove during his rookie year in 2011-12 and has posted solid offensive numbers given his age, including a .267/.377/.435 line with more walks (33) than strikeouts (28) in 280 plate appearances this past season for Isla De La Juventud. Given his current talent level, Ibanez, who turns 22 in April, would likely start his career either in high Class A or Double-A. Ibanez was one of the more promising young players in Cuba, representing his country at the 16U World Championship in Taiwan in 2009 and the 18U World Championship in Canada in 2010, when he was teammates with Cubs outfielder Jorge Soler. Scouts also got to see Ibanez play in the WBC last year in March, although those looks were mostly limited to infield and batting practice, with Ibanez getting only one at-bat. Later that summer at the World Port Tournament in the Netherlands, however, Ibanez went 9-for-15 (all singles) including a 3-for-5 performance in Cuba’s championship game victory. Ibanez wasn’t listed on Isla De La Juventud’s 2014-15 roster and hasn’t played for the team this season, which began on September 21, so it’s believed he left Cuba before then. He joins second baseman Hector Olivera, the No. 6 player in Cuba, is a fellow Cuban second baseman and Top 10 Cuban player who has left the island. Another second baseman, Jose Fernandez, who ranked as the No. 3 player in Cuba, is also missing. Given that Ibanez will be subject to the bonus pools, his timing to obtain residence in a third country as well as a specific license from the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the United States and be declared a free agent by MLB could have an impact on where he signs. The Yankees, Red Sox and Rays have already gone well beyond their 2014-15 international bonus pools, which means they’re going to pay a 100 percent tax on the overage and won’t be able to sign any player subject to the bonus pools for the next two signing periods. With the 2014-15 signing period ending on June 15, those three teams would seem to have an advantage if Ibanez can get cleared to sign before then, given that they won’t have to make a decision about whether to go over their pool and pay the maximum penalties to sign him. If Ibanez doesn’t get declared a free agent until after June 15, however, those three teams won’t be able to sign him.
  11. Should have been gone already . Give the guy a chance to catch a minor league deal, why waste time here.
  12. Miller wants a four year deal, some one will give him 4/36 or 4/40 Robertson should have took the QO . 15.3 mil for a f***ing reliever and he turns it down?
  13. The price of relief has skyrocketed and with KC,s success may go higher. miller is looking for a 4 year deal and I will not be surprised if he gets 4/36
  14. There is no doubt the 5 mil can be put to better use but does anyone really think we can get something for him ? As I posted in an earlier thread before the trade he is replacement level at best in a DH role mostly because I just am not sure they can move him. backup catchers/bench bats don't get 5 mil a year. If you look at the teams that need a catcher, Dodgers, Cubs, and Rangers who do you think would take him
  15. Good job Chappy , BTW, I really like Dinger,s thought on Hunter on a 1 year deal
  16. looks like the Mods need to go to work
  17. I was thinking the same thing when looking at him on my roster and wondering why the f*** i didn't deal him for Davis. I think he would give us an 800 + ops in the AL east and be a huge improvement defensively in left.
  18. Much as i like Martin there is no way i give him 5/80. I said 4/60 but not surprised the Cubs went 4/64
  19. Are you so blind that you can't see the reality. Yes ownership and the mouth of JP Ricarrdi caused players to look dimly at the Jays. But that is just one of the many factors . As o2 states , different country, Americans don't want to play outside the states, Turf, proven to be harder on the body, Rogers Center, why would pitchers want to play there. Money, we aren't willing to pay more for them to come, and marketing, Few can make the extra income outside of baseball
  20. Stewart figures the Stare along will allow him to miss more bats
  21. He is going to teach him the Stare.
  22. Dave Stewart disagrees with our assessment of Helickson. Dave Stewart of the Diamondbacks sees Jeremy Hellickson as “a number two or number three starter,” Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic writes. The prospects the Diamondbacks sent to the Rays, Justin Williams and Andrew Velazquez, both have potential. (Williams hit .351/.403/.437 in 320 plate appearances in rookie ball and at Class A South Bend this season, impressive numbers for an 18-year-old at any level.) But for Stewart, Hellickson’s talent was more important, and he can help the Diamondbacks now. “They could both be All-Stars, but from our standpoint they’re three or four years away from being major league players,” says Stewart. “We have an opportunity to get a good starter to put in our rotation now and go along with our plans for our team with the 2015 season.”
  23. He isn't a free agent yet. Might not be in this signing period. If he is it means the Cubs and Rangers can't sign him. From Ace,s link As Passan notes, Moncada has yet to be unblocked by the United States Office of Foreign Assets Control or Major League Baseball, so the timeline for his arrival on the free agent market is uncertain, but the timing of his arrival is critical. If Moncada isn’t declared a free agent until next year’s signing period (the current signing period runs through June 15, 2015), the Angels, Yankees and Red Sox would not be able to sign him, as the penalties they’ve incurred prevent them from signing a player for more than $300K in the next two signing periods. If he’s declared a free agent in the current signing period, the Rangers and Cubs, who exceeded their bonus pool in the 2013-14 signing period, would not be able to sign him. Better he not get unblocked till after June 15 th . If he is I expect the Yankees to out bid everyone.
  24. That i would enjoy watching build a team with some money
  25. Not saying they don't do some things right. This is exactly the type of moves they make that are usually right. Just saying their farm is s***
