    just make the rule that if you are a pitcher you get the 15 day DL Ohtani is a pitcher, so he gets the 15 day DL He might not pitch at all next year, so he could get the 10 day DL as long as he never throws an inning. But if he becomes a pitcher again this year then boom 15 day DL automatically

    Maybe they think the defense is a concern, so if they think the bat isn't a 1000% sure thing and he ends up moving to 1B then I guess there's a chance he just becomes Kendrys Morales? IDK Maybe they think his health is a concern, so he just goes full Prince Fielder on us? I think its a head scratcher for sure - Vladdy's gotta be a low risk at this point

    not true, this ref (the black dude, #73) just expanded the dimensions of the court by like 10% in order for KD to be in bounds on this play. Durant looks up at him right after like, "really?"

    The Super 2 cutoff is usually around late may or early June and it just relates to paying an extra year of arbitration rather than league min salary. Vlad will be up in the first couple of weeks of April once he has missed enough days to not make it to a full year of service time (172 days) so the Jays can keep him for 7 years.

    Shapiro and Atkins have both made several clear statements that they are committed to the young guys. Tulo himself just said that the team told him they wanted to commit to a young player at shortstop.

    That's one way to do it. Another way would be to look at team wRC+ which the Jays were 10th. It's just that their base running was sooooo bad (worst in the league by a country mile) that the overall offensive WAR was 15th. If the team doesnt give away 30 runs on the bases this year the offense could be great

    Shatkins might be trying to wait until pillar is hitting .342 in the middle of may before trading him. He seems to always have a hot start, would be nice to capitalize on it

    Dude tercet you only like DJ and VGJ in our system and think every other player sucks. There will definitely be more than 2 good players produced from our current system so I dont see how you will end up with an 80% success rate there

    I would trade Stroman now possibly, but I don't see how Sanchez's value could go anywhere but up. I'd keep Sanchez at least til the deadline.

    that's a pretty damn minor move to get all upset about. I think they are doing an excellent job building depth throughout the organization so that we can have a sustainable winner rather than a small window once every 20 years

    Ugh no doubt I dunno what I was thinking last night. Any offer would have to be above and beyond his salary this year to make any marginal difference to him and that would literally never happen for Tulo (though I suppose it could happen for a different player who was released by a team while under contract for a much smaller amount, if he was actually a good player who teams valued)

    As far as I know it's possible that there could be a bidding war for Tulo that would drive the price up beyond the veteran's minimum. Of course this usually (never?) happens but there's nothing stopping a team from giving Tulo an extra couple hundred thousand to convince him to sign with them, which would then be additional money the Jays dont have to pay him

    Gotta think Stro has significantly more value than Sanchez at this point. I doubt Sanchez even has Gray level value after missing 2 seasons in a row
