  1. Jays are moving on up in the reverse standings
  2. Hes reaching just as far as the Sox fan today. Totally ridiculous call. I will never get over that
  3. I was under the impression that when a fan reaches way the f*** over the fence to grab a fly ball it counts as a home run.
  4. Biagini on his move back to the pen: https://www.thestar.com/sports/bluejays/2018/07/11/biagini-starting-to-pick-up-where-he-left-off-in-the-bullpen.html
  5. Anyone else wanna see ried-foley get the start on Saturday?
  6. Yeah Happ really couldnt locate the breaking ball. No idea why he threw it with the full count to Bradley and Betts on deck. Then Betts was able to totally spit on the breaking ball which is why he was able to have that great at bat
  7. 5 unearned runs. At least his ERA goes down...?
  8. I'm just about ready to give up on travis. The bat really isnt coming around and his defense seems to be getting worse and worse
  9. I don't think it's at all likely that Osuna is traded. Gibby and Atkins both showed him a lot of support in their comments, without endorsing what he did. We have control of him through 2021 now with this suspension so it would make way too much sense to keep him.
  10. Probably just a shift in philosophy. Keeping them down throughout september and 2 weeks of april only buys you another year if they literally never go to the minors again. That probably doesn't happen too often, and even when it does their idea might have been that a few ABs in september would speed up the player's development enough that the increase in their production next year would be worth losing the extra year. Of course with the rise of actual statistical analysis this idea was probably recently debunked
  11. it says its HTML5 video if you right click on it, so not a flash issue. I would guess there's something f***y with the browser, either try a different one or try a clean reinstall of the browser would be the first thing i would try
  12. I feel like the Marcosanchez version of dogg has been pretty good tbh.
  13. I remember basically only Boxy was excited, everyone else was like "wait we gave up Hoffman for the corpse of Tulo?"
  14. Ross Atkins was on Tim and Sid and they asked him if Osuna will be back on the roster when his suspension is over. Atkins said "as far as his ability as a baseball player, he's our closer" So it looks like he won't be punted to the moon, at least that is what they are saying for now
  15. I would think his suspension would be for 80 games played by buffalo, not toronto. Buffalo is only at 71 games.
  16. I ended up going down a pretty deep rabbit hole looking into this. Nick Senzel hit .352/.456/.595 with eight home runs over 57 games in his Junior year but he hit .329 /.415/.567 with seven home runs in 58 games at low A. So obviously the levels are comparable, but it seems like low A is a little bit more difficult than what he was seeing in college. I found a really cool article about the equivalencies of other leagues around the world: https://www.nationalsarmrace.com/?p=3008 He says the cape cod league is the best amateur league and is roughly equivalent to high A, and a matchup of the absolute best ncaa teams on a friday night would be roughly equivalent to Low A Brandon McCarthy thinks the best Div-1 teams would have a chance in a 7-game series against a low-A team, but would probably fall short due to pitching depth. (https://www.quora.com/How-would-the-best-college-baseball-team-your-opinion-of-the-best-team-do-against-an-average-team-in-each-level-of-minor-league-baseball-A-AA-AAA?__snids__=1644684008)
  17. Yeah, its really dumb. As soon as you get called up you can get super ripped all day every day but then if you get sent down you can't anymore. Makes no sense
  18. and hitting like 400. Catcher of the future???
  19. it's gotten us this far hasn't it
  20. he probably should have just stayed in Japan until he was eligible for a bigger MLB payday
  21. who is the potential number 1 pick for next year's draft?
  22. https://www.mlb.com/video/2018-mlb-draft-day-1/c-2107372483?tid=262722544
  23. 2 days in a row, bases loaded no outs in the 9th. Jays can't get it done
  24. The only caveat you gave was that he has to be in the majors. The major league DL certainly counts as being in the majors
