  1. In hindsight, that was a bad trade by JPR when the Jays traded Jayson Werth after the 2003 season for Jason Frasor. Werth really only broke out in Philly though, but still should have given him a longer leash. Regardless, Jason Frasor was a great BP arm and extremely reliable. He got better with age as well. Him and Scotty Downs were a great late-inning combo. Frasor did a lot in the community as well with the Jays Care Foundation and was a really nice guy. Only thing I disliked about him was he was extremely slow on the mound. He definitely wouldn't be a fan of the pitch clock haha.
  2. Jose Quintana signing incoming. Lefty, veteran and rubber arm who used to be really good: Atkins will love him.
  3. Chicago White Sox - they suck. Pittsburgh Pirates - have some intriguing young arms and players, but they never spend huge money. Miami Marlins - they never will spend big money and always trade everyone after 3-4 years before they become expensive via arbitration and FA's. No direction whatsoever. St. Louis Cardinals - what is going on there now? You had a lovefest with that organization before haha. Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim: wasted years of having the two best players in baseball! Cincinnati Reds - have drafted and developed some real solid young players and arms, let's see if they can keep them however. Would have included the Athletics on that list, but now seems like they want to spend and they have an exciting roster heading into 2025 that could be a sleeper. Have the Jays ranked anywhere between #20-30, maybe around #23/24 right now but that could change.
  4. You're not getting Vientos for one-year of Vladdy lol. Maybe Baty can be thrown in though.
  5. Coors Field is way better than the Rogers Centre still haha.
  6. A lot of seats were purchased early last winter because they were speculating an Ohtani signing along with the new renos at the dome. I had a co-worker who bought season tickets last November for that very reason and she told me over the summer she isn't renewing after the disastrous start they had. She had difficulty reselling tickets after and had to take a big loss majority of the time. You will have a lot of casuals just buying tickets online at the last minute for the cheapest they could get, so they can go stand up and hang out at one of the rooftop bars in the summer months when the roof is open. Otherwise, weeknight games in April/May when the roof is closed and when the Leafs are in the Playoffs - a lot of empty seats. Come May long weekend, June and July, with nice weather, the Dome will fill up. But even still, I bet a lot of resellers will be taking a huge loss and you'll be able to buy seats way cheaper than the Jays box office.
  7. Rest of Blue Jays offseason: - Mark Canha (1 year, $8M) - Josh Bell (1 year, $8M) - Martin Perez (1 year, $7M) - Carlos Estevez (2 year, $20M) - Josh Rojas (1 year, $7.5M) $40M spent across all 5 positions!
  8. Yup. Really disappointing.
  9. Watch them sign an Anthony Rizzo or Josh Bell or Mark Canha.
  10. Like you're telling me the Jays couldn't beat that offer? Heck I'm sure you offered 3/72, or 4/80ish he would have came back to Toronto.
  11. I have no idea what the Blue Jays plan is other than to play defense with a bunch of utility infielders. Atkins has no clear vision or plan at all.
  12. Keep dreaming buddy!
  13. Santander ain't coming to Toronto lol.
  14. Damnit!
  15. Definitely would be a sick infield defensively with Chapman, Adames and Bregman.
  16. Yeah Yankees could use a 3B and then move Jazz to 2B or the outfield.
  17. To play him at 2B?
  18. No lmao. If you think that's the batting lineup 1 through 9, you crazy haha.
  19. Yeah nice pickup by the Tigers. He should bounce back and give them 2-3 WAR.
  20. Lineup: C Kirk 1B Alonso 2B Gimenez SS Bichette 3B Guerrero LF Hernandez or Santander CF Varsho RF Springer DH Wagner and use as a revolving door
  21. Jays lineup needs power anyway they could get it. Would sign Alonso to a one-year pillow worth $25M or so and move Vladdy to 3B in a 60/40 split with Clement. The days Vladdy doesn't play 3B, move him to 1B and have Alonso DH, or have Vladdy DH while Alonso plays 1B. Keep the DH spot a revolving door for players to get rest like Springer, Vladdy, Alonso, Bo, etc. Sign a bat like Teo or Santander for LF on top of that. Or as a Plan B, sign Profar. Lineup doesn't look that bad after at all.
  22. Hopefully he improves. I got him in the LOD haha!
  23. Would take that deal in a heartbeat. I don't think Fried is anything that special in fantasy baseball. He's a better arm for a team in real life. His K/9 isn't elite like other top starters available. Maybe he'll rack up high Win totals with the Yankees, and a solid low 3 or high 2 ERA but that's it. He's also an injury risk as well.
  24. Happy Boxing Day week!
