  3. Sergio Romo is an interesting target...his season in 2011 was amazing. Doubt he ever repeats that performance, though he'll provide solid K/9 rates and BB/9 rates. I'd rather go after Romo than pay a premium on David Robertson if I were a GM.
  4. Or I could see AA going after some veteran arms like a LaTroy Hawkins, or Jason Grilli for cheap, kind of like how he signed Francisco Cordero, Jon Rauch and Kevin Gregg a couple of years ago. Hopefully that's not the case though.
  5. What do you guys think? He was a closer in college and he has posted a 12.95 K/9, 2.55 xFIP and 1.1 WAR this season. His walk rate is a bit high at 4.81 BB/9, though if he struggled with control in the first half and in the second half of the season his BB/9 rates have been in line with his career averages. I think Cecil has the stuff and makeup to be an elite closer. Look at some lefties like McGee and Doolittle this season. Even BJ Ryan made a successful transition from a 7th-8th guy to a closer. Screw Casey Janssen and Sergio Santos. Cecil for closer in 2015. Discuss...
  6. I had a nice little run this season. Considering how my team started out and some of the major disappointments this season (Minor, Shelby, Cingrani, Beltran, bullpen at the beginning of the season), I made some key moves this summer which had a significant impact. Tough going into the first round down 2 roster spots (Beltran and Castro) and with Soriano being removed from high leverage situations. Plus going up against a rotation of Kershaw, Zimmerman, Weaver, Verlander 2x in the same week doesn't bold well. Wish my lineup hit like they did last week, out of all the times to go off they do it against Boxy during the last week of the regular season ugh. Regardless, I like my team more now than I did at the beginning of this season. I'm looking forward to this offseason and 2015. I have some nice core pieces with Posey, Freeman, Tulo, Arenado, Brantley, Castro, & d'Arnaud along with some intriguing arms in Greinke, Ross, Hughes, Tillman, Peralta, and Fiers to build around. A rebound season from Mike Minor and Carlos Beltran could go a long way.
  7. I wish the playoffs started last week

Good thing I got the Rogers Super Sports Pack. TSN isn't showing any NFL games at 1PM, instead they have 4 channels dedicated to the CFL game Hamilton vs Saskatchewan.
  10. Finally the administrators woke up and did something. Ridiculous that they allowed that crap to go on for as long as it did.

  12. The AL MVP according to the casuals! http://assets.sbnation.com/assets/2902327/kawasakidance.gif
  13. Trout deserves it. I'd also say guys like V-Mart, Brantley, and Abreu will get votes.
  14. Fernando Rodney is awful. I laughed when the Mariners broadcasters said Rodney has been the best closer in baseball lol. They are such homers. Even when he threw that 3-2 change-up on Moss, they were like only Fernando Rodney has guts to make that pitch.

  16. Great game in Seattle right now. Cano tied the game with a monster shot in the bottom of the 7th!
  17. Wow Chris Davis having an awful year. A .196/.300/.404 line just absurd. Hilarious how he was going in first round of drafts this year and how people threw the "elite" label on him. He'll never reach those 2013 levels again.
  18. I hope he's ok. That's scary.

    Screw the Leafs! They suck!
  21. When EE is going out and hitting his 35-40 HR's with a .900 + OPS, that clearly makes up for his lack of defensive abilities. I'd still rather have EE over James Loney.

  23. If the Blue Jays had Castro, most posters on here would be asking the world for him.
