  1. Marco Estrada 2.0 Edit: I thought we were talking about Junior Guerra lol.
  2. Dozier will have a big year with the Nats! Great value this late in the draft!
  3. Hotels in Albany are still pretty reasonable. I was planning on going, but just seems too crazy on the Sunday. I'll stream it online and watch it at the cottage.
  4. Roy Halladay going into the HOF not wearing a Blue Jays cap, just doesn't feel right.
  5. Yeah I thought Shapiro would have been all over Pomeranz due to his days drafting him back with Cleveland. If I'm Pomeranz though, signing with San Fran on a one-year contract to rebuild his value is a lot better than signing with the Jays. Don't have to pitch in the AL East, and get to pitch in a pitcher-friendly ballpark in the NL.
  6. The only difference is age. Otherwise Asdrubal Cabrera and Marwin Gonzalez are a wash offensively IMO.
  7. Can get Cespedes for very cheap lol.
  8. Unbelievable! I can't believe it. For sure he could have got like $7-8M on a one-year deal at the very least.
  9. Go with Goldy? Agreed!
  10. Trade in a 20-team dynasty league. To Team A: 1B Jesus Aguilar, OF Jorge Soler, SP Cal Quantrill, 2020 1st round pick To Team B: 1B Paul Goldschmidt Thoughts?
  11. Stanek to me. My 5th round draft pick to the Hurl.
  12. Agreed. 2014 and 2015 are pretty much the same as his 2017 and 2018 in terms of the pitcher who he was. So I guess we all agree 2016 was a fluke?
  13. If both Stroman and Sanchez are healthy and pitch to their previous forms, then over. If not, then under.
  14. What happened to Fangraphs? I still use the site for looking at advanced stats, though for written content not so much anymore.
  15. I think Gray is better suited pitching in the NL. Still, the Reds overpaid for just one year of Sonny Gray and it's not like they're going to be real contenders in 2019 as well.
  16. I could see the Padres definitely being a mystery team. AJ Preller isn't afraid to spend big, like we saw back in 2015 when he went after Justin Upton, Matt Kemp and Craig Kimbrel or signing Hosmer last offseason.
  17. Very nice signing. I expect him to rebound.
  18. Royals are likely to do the same with Chris Owings this season. He'll likely get 2B, SS and CF eligibility back. Tim Beckham has 3B and SS eligibility and likely will get 2B as well with the Mariners. Wilmer Flores will get some multiple positions in Arizona.
  19. How much more were teams going to go on him? Nothing more than 3/30 I would imagine. He's 33-years-old already as well. Great signing by the Yankees. Plus for him, going on a World Series contending club also was a selling point, even if he got less AAV.
  20. Still some middle infielders available on the FA market who you might be able to get on a reasonable 1-2 year deal: Asdrubal Cabrera (maybe Shapiro and Atkins can lure him to sign here since they know him well during his time in Cleveland) Freddy Galvis (would be a decent stopgap for a year who can provide between 1-2 WAR and wouldn't cost much) Marwin Gonzalez (I still see him getting a multi-year deal somewhere from a contender but if he still is on the market a week or two before ST, might be able to get him on a 1-year deal). Sean Rodriguez (nice guy for depth and can play all around. Can crush LHP and always has loved hitting at the Rogers Centre).
  21. I regret trading David Phelps in the LOD now.
  22. Murphy would have never signed here.
  23. Drew Pomeranz and Burch Smith.
