  1. Berrios has had an awful start, but it's only been 6 starts and he's a proven top MLB starter. I'm not too worried and sure he'll turn it around this season. He's not an ace like a DeGrom etc. Berrios reminds me of an AJ Burnett.
  2. I miss the platoon of Frank Catalanotto and Reed Johnson. They both together were utilized so well, especially in 2006.
  3. Difference between AA in Toronto and Atlanta. If AA left the Braves tomorrow, they're well positioned to be a top team for a sustained period. He's done a really good job in Atlanta and really happy for him! After AA left Toronto, they only had the 2016 season and then after the rebuild took place. Kind of interesting to look at the different approaches AA took with these two ball clubs. Toronto in 2015 in my opinion was a top World Series contender, just the Royals got in the way.
  4. Marlins in the NL East could be an interesting team as well. They have a nice young core of SP's and Jazz Chisholm looks like an exciting player. If only the organization had a better front office.
  5. Long term, Braves are still the best team and set up the best in that division for the next 5 or so years. Mets will give them a run for their money this season for sure and will always spend big bucks to attract top FA's. Wish DeGrom was healthy for them.
  6. Phillies are a poorly ran organization, even when they won the World Series in 2008. No way they contend with the Mets or Braves in that division. They have some solid pieces but can't put together a solid full roster.
  7. A lot of PPD games tonight, damn.
  8. Smart move on his part.
  9. The Reds were only real contenders in 2010 and 2012/2013. Otherwise the organization has been horrible. Shocked he never demanded a trade. He would have been a beautiful fit on the Jays during the 2015 and 2016 season! But yeah I don't think he has ever had any desire to play for another organization outside of the Reds. Even if it meant being traded to a team like the Blue Jays, his home town team, and possible World Series contender.
  10. As long as Chap provides elite level D and a 4+ WAR, I don't care if he only hits .220-.230 with 25-30 HR's. I think he definitely is capable of more if he gets on a roll and finds a comfort level. If he hit 36 HRs in Oakland, 40 is possible here at the Rogers Centre. Overall, all offensive numbers are down all across baseball so doubt it will be this season.
  11. If the Reds paid for most of his salary and wasn't a high asset cost for the Jays to acquire, Votto would have been a nice bat to have at DH. Hitting at this ballpark and in this lineup, maybe he doesn't get off to such a horrid start. He loves Cincy though and probably wants to finish off his career there. I don't think he ever expressed a desire or want to play for his home team, even during his prime years.
  12. How did Joey Votto put up a 3.7 WAR last season?
  13. He's also 39 now. You expect some regression. I still think he'll be able to hold his own for this season and maybe next, especially in the early going with offensive numbers being way down.
  14. Asdrubal Cabrera type of player would be nice!
  15. My favourite sections are in the 200 level infield. Smaller sections, comfy seats, smaller lines at washrooms or concessions and IMO a much better view since the net covers the whole infield now. I'll go to a specific game for a certain giveaway, specific team or specific player/pitcher I want to see. Atmosphere in late September or October you can't beat! Would rather save up money for Postseason baseball instead of seeing games in May or during the regular season. Don't care about attending the game on Canada Day, would rather use that money towards a late September game or Postseason game.
  16. I don't either, but I see some people having 4 or 5 beers each. Between 2 people, that's $100-$120. A lot of people blow money on beer and at concessions. I don't do that anymore, such a waste of money. Would sometimes rather just watch the game at home in the comfort of my living room, have a Mill St Organic or two with some chips and watch the game. Saves money on tickets, beer, food, and transit there and back. If I do go to a game, will either eat dinner and grab drinks beforehand at Corks or somewhere close by.
  17. It's like being at a club. The chicks love it haha
  18. Most people are 3 to 4 beers in anyways so they don't care haha
  19. Looking at Boston the last two decades, they have had seasons where they finished 5th in the AL East, but they never have been horrible for a majority of a decade. In 2012 they went 69-93 and placed 5th in the AL East.. In 2013, they end up finishing first in the AL East and winning a World Series. From 2014-2015, they finished 5th two seasons in a row. Otherwise for the most part they've always been in the thick of things in a tough AL East division.
  20. Not sure. Maybe they know something about Boegarts that we don't or they have always had a strained relationship. Though don't think Boston won't spend to bring in talent to upgrade their roster. They won't be stuck in a rebuild for 2-3 seasons lol.
  21. The thing with Boston and New York, if they suck one season really bad, they can spend unlimited amounts of money the next offseason and attract any top FA. We've seen Boston and New York do that before. So many baseball players and pitchers always dream of putting on a Red Sox or Yankees uniform. Boston might suck for this season, but I would be worried about them spending for top talent next season.

Yeah even with Embiid, was going to be tough for the Sixers to beat the Heat. I don't wish injuries upon anyone, but Embiid shouldn't have taunted the Raps like that in Game 6 especially after being up by a large margin. Just play the game respecting your opponents and maybe Pascal or other Raptors don't go as hard at him in the last quarter like that. Regardless, Heat in 4 or 5 games.

If they won Game 3, they would have been the ones in position to clinch for Game 6. That Game 3 definitely would have changed things, but overall glad the Raps fought back and played hard rather than losing the series 4-0. I knew it was going to be tough to make it past the first round given the Raps being a young team, but hopefully this offseason they make 1 or 2 solid additions and could build off a successful 2021/2022 season.
