  1. Yeah Blue Jays need to take advantage against teams like the Angels, Cubs, Pirates. At least win 2 of 3 in each series. Sometimes the easiest schedules can be the toughest. Teams like the Cubs have actually played well recently, so they are no walkover. Angels are 1-9 over their last 10 so the Jays better take advantage.
  2. Lets see how the bullpen continues this month and into September and how they do closing out a one-run game from the 6th inning on in the Postseason. They've played a Yankees team stuck in a rut and a Red Sox team that is going nowhere the past week. They have a pretty easy schedule coming up in terms of opponents, so if the starters continue to pitch deep into games, bullpen should be very well rested to end this month. I'm glad to see the results, though I'm not jumping and celebrating thinking this bullpen is all of a sudden unstoppable. I like the moves Atkins made at the trade deadline with Bass and Pop - I've said that many times.
  3. Arash Madani pumping the rhetoric! Love how Sportsnet now will romanticize this team and how something special could be happening lol.

Maybe he just didn't want to play in Toronto. Would you rather spend your winters in Vegas or Toronto? As well, he knows how harsh the Toronto media and fans can be, so why put up with that ******** at his age. Vegas has a great chance at going deep into the Playoffs, better than the Leafs as well.
  5. Lmao you're such a huge homer!
  6. Mitch White was a solid pickup. Hopefully he starts pitching deeper into games, though he gives the Jays a very solid back-end of the rotation starter with some upside.
  7. Never count out the Rays. Wouldn't want to face them in the Wildcard series, especially at the Trop.
  8. I have nothing against the Berrios trade and extension. This season I give him a mulligan. If he performs this way again next season and in 2024, then I would be worried. Otherwise, when the Jays acquired him, he was a very solid #1A or #2 starter and under 30 with the potential for more growth. There was a lot to like.
  9. How about Jose Bautista?
  10. I'm still in.
  11. Yeah for the first half of the last decade, he was a dominant workhorse. One of the best Postseason performers in recent memory. Sad how he has fallen off so much especially at a young age. It's not like he's 38 or 39. Most Giants pitchers like Lincecum, Cain and now Bumgarner all had short careers in terms of dominance.
  12. Yup exactly. Angels are still an MLB team. You gotta play good baseball to still beat them. They won't be an easy walkover.
  13. Ohtani pitches on Saturday.
  14. Hader hasn't been his dominant self this season, even when with the Brewers. 15.50 K/9 and 2.81 xFIP still though. Relievers can be very volatile, even the best of them. Brewers might have been smart trading him.
  15. Going back since the beginning of the Yankees series, Blue Jays starting pitching has been very solid. Most arms are pitching deep into games, other than White really. The starting rotation definitely has an impact on the rest of the bullpen day-to-day. Keeps guys fresh and that is definitely helping. Bullpen has been rock solid the past week, though lets see if this continues down the stretch. The Jays got lucky catching the Yankees in a rut and Boston isn't really a dangerous lineup to begin with. I wouldn't get overly excited and think the Blue Jays bullpen is miraculously amazing from this past week, though definitely encouraging to see. Starting rotation pitching well and that definitely has a domino effect.
  16. They're a great organization at building up roster depth. Trayce Thompson when he came up put up some decent numbers in 2015 and 2016. (1.4 and 0.7 WAR) He showed some glimpses of having some decent pop. Injuries over the years since have slowed him down. He was in the Dodgers organization before so that must have helped bringing him back and who wouldn't want to play for the Dodgers anyways? Plus his brother Klay lives in California as well haha. They definitely have got lucky with that pickup since he's provided positive value when he steps onto the field, both offensively and defensively (can play all 3 OF positions). Sometimes deals/pickups like this work in favor of the organization, sometimes they don't. An outfielder like Trayce Thompson was definitely worth rolling the dice on as a 4th outfielder given his skillset. He was on a short leash to begin with, so if he didn't work out, the Dodgers likely would have DFAd him instead of giving him 151 PAs. That's the difference between the Dodgers and what we see with the Blue Jays. Instead, the Blue Jays waste too many ABs on guys like Tapia or Zimmer which is a mistake since it hurts the club more than helps. Again, not saying these deals or signings always work out, though it goes to show you that you can target some interesting 4th outfielders/utility players during the offseason.
  17. Also, if he stays his entire career with the Royals, voters will probably consider how important he was to the franchise and them winning a World Series.
  18. Yankees are so stupid trading him. Bader hasn't even played for them yet and likely will be just be on the bench.
  19. Quick way to get 2000 followers haha
  20. Haha that's gold! Someone create one for Mark Shapiro!
  21. Think Madison Bumgarner is droppable now in 20-team leagues?
  22. Stroman is the biggest beta male in the MLB.
  23. People from BC have money haha. Those west coast fans will spend big money to see the Blue Jays in the Postseason.
  24. Gibby is the best!
