Yeah the deal makes sense in terms of the offseason goal to improve the outfield D.
With Varsho and KK added, along with Springer in RF, Teo didn't really have a spot in the outfield unless he played 2 times per week giving someone a day off or if an injury occurred. Only other position was being an everyday DH.
If Swanson goes on and has 1.5 - 2 WAR seasons out of the pen for the next three years, then the deal looks good. Jays definitely took on more risk with a BP arm who is unproven in the late innings versus a solid corner OF bat, but we'll see. Only way Jays fans we'll have any regret is if Teo has a monster season in 2023. If he is just a 2-3 WAR outfielder like he was last season, don't think I'll lose any sleep over the move.
