    You guys have to beLEAF!
  2. Oakland A's vs. Kansas City Royals this weekend should be a fun series to watch!
  3. I own Nick Frasso in the LOD. He will be a stud.
  4. This post is 100% Can never count Boston out. Over the last decade they've always been able to retool fast via their farm system, some savy trades and FA signings. Plus they have money at their disposal to make a big splash if they want to. Definitely consider them a sleeper team for Ohtani. They never stay bad for long and when they get good, they actually come through, go on a deep Postseason run and win the World Series! Boston this season still lacks solid starting pitching, but their BP seems fine and they have some intriguing bats in their lineup. Really no different than the Blue Jays when you consider how awful their starting rotation has looked thus far and even some BP arms. I definitely now consider Boston a Wild Card contender. In my opinion, Yankees are the last place team in the AL East this season.
  5. Jays should be around 90-95 wins. Probably another Wildcard from the looks of it. After Gausman, there really isn't a legit No. 2 starter. Manoah looks toast. Bassitt is just a No. 3/4 guy. Berrios needs to show more consistency still, but otherwise he's been better than last season. Kikuchi is just a No. 5 guy, that's it. Rotation looks like it could be a problem, especially if they ever lose Gausman to injury. Could turn into a dumpster fire pretty quickly, Bullpen: I've been happy with Pearson so far and hope they work him in more high leverage situations. Romano as closer is fine and Swanson looks like a decent late inning guy. Garcia is a solid middle reliever. Mayza is a solid LHP. Could use another strong lefty or another elite arm. Hope Green can be that guy later on. If the starting rotation pitches well, that will help the bullpen greatly as well.

Leafs still have a chance. They need to win the next two games in Florida.
  7. Hope the Pirates keep up that play when the Jays roll into town.
  8. Yup, I never said he was better than a No. 3 starter, just saying he has actually pitched pretty well this season thus far. He's a good mid-rotation starter.
  9. MLB scheduling is really stupid.
  10. I take Varsho if I'm allowed to select him
  11. Flaherty was always overrated. Also, the guy seems like an a-hole.
  12. Montgomery has posted a 1.2 WAR thus far. Tied for 6th highest in the MLB. He has a higher WAR currently than Shane McClanahan, Shohei Ohtani, and Framber Valdez.
  13. Trade for Arenado next offseason
  14. Blue Jays and most road teams stay at the Sheraton near the Prudential Centre. Will definitely see players around the lobby and at the bar after the games, which is cool. I stayed there in 2009.
  15. I'll take Vladdy as well. He'll hit one over the Green Monster!
  16. Joseph Gordon Levitt has a great feel for the game. I think he would make a great manager if he ever wanted to pursue a career in baseball.
  17. He does have high BB rates which will always hold him back from being in the same category as a Cole, Strider, Kershaw, Verlander, Scherzer etc. His xFIP last season was 3.50 and 4.02 career. He did have an amazing season in 2022, but I don't expect those numbers from him moving forward. Probably an ERA around 3.50-4ish every season with 200 + K's. He's more of a No. 2 starter than an ace. Definitely a very solid arm, though I don't consider Cease in the upper tier when it comes to SPs.
  18. I know it's early but a left-handed bat probably has to be at the top of the shopping list given the struggles of Belt. Doesn't have to be a superstar but someone who could DH and occasionally play in the field. Afterwards, they'll likely target bench/bullpen pieces as they always do. As long as their starting rotation stays healthy, I don't think they'll look at adding a starter, unless it's an elite arm. Plus in the Postseason, you only need 3-4 starters. But we'll see. Some LHB's who could be targets: - Joc Pederson - Gavin Sheets - Seth Brown - Jake Fraley - Charlie Blackmon (Rockies would have to eat some money) - Mike Moustakas - Corey Dickerson Should be plenty of LHBs available.
  19. Those are pretty good trades during their rebuilds. That's tough to pull off. A lot of their top position players haven't lived up to their full potential. Both Jimenez and Roberts have dealt with injuries on-and-off, Anderson has some flaws with low BB rates, Moncada injuries and inconsistency. Giolito and Cease have been solid, but they're not elite arms by any stretch. Kopech has been disappointing. They're definitely an odd and frustrating organization. You would think with that talent and payroll they should be the top team in the AL Central.

    Release the Kraken!
  21. Boston is one of my favourite cities and sports town to visit. You can't beat their seafood!
  22. Jays better start hitting more HR's or there won't be as many chicks at the Corona Rooftop Patio. Chicks dig the long ball.
  23. They're a mediocre team sure that likely will be .500 or a bit below when all is said and done, but they aren't as bad as the A's, Royals or Nats lol. Disappointing start to the series, especially the way the Jays lost the first two games.
  24. Yeah funny how a couple days ago, the bullpen was being praised as elite. Last three games, they've shown their true colours. It's still a solid BP if everyone is used properly and if the Jays starters go deep into games. It's not an elite pen though and there is definitely room for improvement. If that improvement doesn't come internally (Pearson + Green), will have to come via trade. Can't waste a good opportunity again this season. Again, the bullpen is solid. Doesn't need a complete overhaul as some other posters suggest, but could use another elite arm or so. Hope Pearson and Green could be pieces to the puzzle.
  25. Lmao, the worst team in the league is 17-14. I know you hate Boston, but stop overexaggerating haha.
