  1. Actually it was, "Hooked up with." Made out with is a toned down version- lol!
  2. I know some guys who played with him in the minors. Dustin would fall for any and every prank. Known as nice but really slow and gullible. On one instance he was convinced to go talk to a girl after being told that he had made out with her a few weeks before. Well, they hasn't even been to that town that season. LOL!
  3. Some of you probably don't know this because of how many years ago it occurred but Pedro Guerrero was accused of being the ring leader/ master mind behind a drug smuggling and trafficking ring. His defense lawyer told the judge in open court that his client was so stupid that he couldn't master mind a trip to a convinence store. Guerrero apparently has an IQ around 70 and that might be generous. Tony LaRussa (in his book) wrote that he couldn't imagine a person being more stupid than Ricky Henderson, until meeting Pedro Guerrero.
  4. You mean stupidest? Pretty stupid to ask who is dumbest. Anyway, Rajai Davis has the lowest IQ and lowest baseball IQ. He's not Ricky Henderson or Pedro Guerrero stupid but I'm amazed that he can tie his own shoes. McGowan would rank second. Neither Rasmus or Lind are at all stupid people. Don't confuse being country southern or discomfort with the media with stupidity.
  5. How is Melky not on the list? I didn't just suggest Lind traded and an outfielder signed, I believe that's what will happen.
  6. And waste over $600k and use a roster spot? That won't happen. If not non tendered, he'll get removed from the 40 and out righted. He'll declare himself a free agent and the Jays will get stuck with a few hundred K to pay. What's the point?
  7. Current World Rankings: 1. Russia 2. Slovakia 3. Czech Republic 4. Finland 5. Canada 6. Sweden 7. USA 8. Norway 9. France 10. Latvia 11. Switzerland 12. Germany Those are the Olympic hockey nations for 2014.
  8. It really isn't. Any tournament that only guarantees teams 3 games is very flawed. And then you're into elimination games. Not to mention they have shoot outs deciding elimination games. How about you seed the top 7 hockey nations and have 8-12 play to grab the 8th spot beginning day 1 of the Olympics. Then you have all 8 remaining teams play a round robin- 7 games each. First plays second for gold and 3rd plays 4th for bronze. No shoot outs in any of the games. Round robin games could have 1 overtime period and then end in a tie. Medal games would play to a winner like NHL playoffs. Now that would be a tourney!
  9. Gose should replace Rajai on the bench. The end.
  10. All GMs make mistakes. Player evaluation is not an exact science.
  11. Been saying this for almost 3 years now-- Arencibia is too weak as a catcher to play the position and the work it takes trying takes away any hope of him developing his hit skill. He needs to become a LF and focus on hitting to have any shot at a decent career. This should have happened more than a year ago. Might be too late now.
  12. He's a clear non tender. And AA is that smart. He bet on the wrong horse and has to live with it. Now time to shoot the horse.
  13. Ruiz, Navarro or McCann will be Toronto's starting catcher next year. I'm betting on Ruiz.
  14. You don't really believe that do you? He's going to be non tendered. The best he's going to get is a free agent minor league deal from anyone in baseball this off season.
  15. I really think that the team is tweaks from contending. Get a real catcher. Get Morrow back healthy. Bring Drabek, Hutchison and McGowan to ST as starters. Add a few tweaks. I still like idea of trading Lind and signing Beltran but to me that's a tweak.
  16. About 15 years ago I went to the supposed last ever football game at Varsity. They gave out souvenir scrolls on the history of Varsity, the game got huge media push, the tickets were like $5 and not only were U of T good then, they were playing York. Maybe and I mean maybe 800 people showed. I was disappointed.
  17. Well McGill gets 15-20 thousand fans a game and U of T draws less than 300 fans per game.
  18. Just gut Lamport Stadium and rebuild/ renovate. The area is taking off and parkades could be built at the south end for added parking. The land space is sufficient to tuck the Argos in there with a cozy 33,000 seat facility.
  19. I couldn't tell you if it would or wouldn't. I was of the impression that BMO was out and then the talk of TMLSE getting involved with the Argos came up.
  20. The Argos do not intend to play on grass. The reno, though ambitious, would include a rolling artificial turf that would go over the grass field. Not sure if it would be like what they do in Arizona for Football or something lower tech.
  21. What they aren't saying yet is that when they drop the floor lower, they will go down more than what is just needed to put in grass. They will go low enough to allow the seats to move without tearing up the grass and for about 12,000 extra seats when configured for NFL. The Bills deal will dump the pre-season game but might even add a second regular season tilt. The Bills will be staying and the facility will still be able to accommodate a Grey Cup.
  22. 2018 at latest. The Argos lease has an out clause. The grass could be in by 2015. Think of it this way, if TMLSE buy the Argos, BMO will get 9,000 extra seats and be lengthened and the Argos will move quickly. Of they have to build their own stadium, it'll be 2018.
  23. Marcum is likely done. Arencibia will be non tendered.
  24. Take a look at the types of skill players the CFL teams sign from US schools. Receivers and backs from spread offence schools, lots being 3rd down H-backs and slot receivers. And the number of option QBs and small spread-O QBs is pretty large. They bring em in and try them on for size. Some stick. It's been going on a long time. Ricky Foggie, Gilbert Renfroe, Cleo Lemon, Steven Jyles, Kerry Joseph, Michael Bishop, Damon Allen and Joe "747" Adams are just a few examples of option or spread-o QBs to come through Toronto.
  25. CFL receivers aren't even close. NFL receivers have to run precise routes, while the CFL field size is forgiving. CFL receivers get a running start, while those in the NFL have to beat a corner at the line. NFL receivers are involved on complex blocking schemes, while receivers blocking in the CFL is almost never a requirement on a run play or a swing pass. They just run downfield and draw coverage. And while I'm at it, NFL receivers go over the middle on narrow fields and take huge shots from linebackers. They also take monster hits from safeties. CFL safeties are more like extra corners. Mervyn Fernandez had good success in the NFL but a superstar like Terry Greer was a #3-4 receiver in the NFL. Joey Walters had some success in the USFL. Most are just too small or aren't strong enough to break away from the line of scrimmage. Now if someone in the NFL wants to use a run and shoot offence like the Warren Moon Houston Oilers or the Jeff George Atlanta Falcons, sure, there are good receivers in the CFL who would fit in the offence.
