  1. Ya and he got knocked hard for not being good for young hitters and was basically called a veteran's manager. He's known as a strategist and is probably a better fit for a contender with older players. Not a good fit for the Cubbies.
  2. 1000th thread? Lol really?
  3. Guys, he's not that good. 90 and flat on the 4-seamer. Very good curve for amateur baseball. Decent change. Quebec can't hit btw. If you want to see some real talent come out of Canada, North York won the National Bantam title and are rare for Canadian baseball, as they have 6 or 7 legitimate hitting prospects. And I mean quiet and quick bats and nice fluid swings and power from monster 15-year olds that could be mashing kids who are 18.
  4. Joe Girardi's contract is up and the Cubs want him.
  5. - Girardi likely to leave Yankees for Cubs - Yankees want Mattingly - Dodgers almost fired Don and like Wallach Dodgers could win World Series. Let the post season distractions and NY Media fueled drama begin...
  6. Smokescreen. They are buying time with the Bills to try and dump the preseason game and get a second regular season game. Rolling out Game Day Grass over the real sod twice a year after baseball season should be no biggie, same with a Grey Cup or an Eastern Final.
  7. Not to mention that the entire 100 level should be box seats and not football stadium rows.
  8. The biggest stadium improvement that is likely to happen is a monumental task. All of the seats, on all levels, from foul pole to foul pole, face the outfield. Only in Oakland is this also the case. Seats are supposed to face home plate.
  9. Lind's option being picked up is a no brainer. Of course it's exercised. They aren't throwing away $2 million to have a player with trade value play elsewhere. If AA doesn't want him here next year, he will pick up the option and then trade him.
  10. Hilarious thing to say being that he has always hit lefty starters far better than lefty relievers.
  11. I agree with most of that, though I'm almost convinced that McGowan starts next year. I also like Hutchison a bit more.
  12. Doesn't hurt to look. Btw, I did not intentionally leave Romero off that list. Simply forgot him.
  13. That city is going nuts! Whole town is Tribe crazy right now. Hope they get there.
  14. Will someone steal a wild card? Who gets in? Gonna concede that Pittsburgh/ St. Louis Gets one WC, with the other winning the division. Same for Oakland/ Texas.
  15. I'm just having fun with the Nats late season miracle run and the surging Indians chasing wild cards. The Tribe are only 1.5 games out and while the Nationals are 5 back with just 15 to go, them finishing off with a 13-2 streak wouldn't shock many with the way they are playing. Cinci players have to be looking over their shoulders. Wouldn't it be crazy with all the Tampa, Baltimore, Yankees attention, if Cleveland stole that last playoff spot?
  16. Are there 5 quality starters from this group? Dickey Johnson (if signed) Morrow Buehrle Happ Hutchison McGowan Kingham (trade for Lind from Pittsburgh) Redmond Drabek Nolin Rogers Stroman
  17. We honestly have a good trade chip in Lind. Hard to believe but at 7 million and controlled, his value is rising. His monster home run off a lefty reliever a few days ago wasn't meaningless. That was his price going up. As I said at the very start if this thread, ship Lind to Pittsburgh for one of their young and blocked starters and sign Beltran. His signing here is already got some rumor mill action and the season isn't even over yet.
  18. I'm taking bets that McGowan is in the rotation to start next season at even money but if he's the opening day starter I get 10-1....
  19. That's the one popular one! Always used as an example. He's supposedly a really nice guy though.
  20. Lol.
  21. Sierra has 2 weeks, the DWL and Spring Training all before they need to decide anything. Unless He really breaks out, I image that he'll be part of a small trade in March.
  22. Anyway, Dustin is a bit of a doofus. Doesn't seem to affect how he plays, unlike Rajai.
  23. Well come on. Type a guy's name... It shows on a Google search... I get my balls busted! There's well over 100 ex pro players playing senior baseball in Ontario...
  24. Just to add, a long time first baseman for the Intercounty Leafs was Dustin's roommate in A-ball but I didn't get the story from Patterson. He never liked me, so no conversations there- lol.
  25. Wouldn't be cool for me to say but none of them are still in pro baseball. Brief careers that didn't amount to anything.
