  1. I get where you're coming from and I do recall that. Bit of a difference between hitting .295 for Las Vegas in the PCL with a long swing and hitting over .400 in Buffalo, though both are 5-9 infielders.
  2. Arencibia needs to worry about pitch catching before moving up to pitch framing.
  3. That would add up to 1 more brief appearance, an innings limited start and 2 full starts by the 30th or 31st.
  4. He was pitching on 2 days rest. He had just pitched 1.2 innings in an Extended Spring Training Game prior to beginning his rehab assignment. I imagine that he'll be on a 30 pitch count for at least one more appearance, followed by 3 days rest and a 4 inning start. Then increase innings from there on 4 days rest.
  5. 1 for 4 v Indy and the 2011 first overall pick Gerrit Cole. .411
  6. Not how it works. The kid is to never play ever again when the teams face each other? Just get it over with. They'd have waited a long time but still got him. I've seen teams wait months to get a guy because he pulled a stunt on getaway day. Late in the season? No problem. Drill you next year.
  7. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=kruk/040423
  8. You've hot to realize that all that Spring Training talk of McGowan relieving was much ado about nothing. He's going to start and he either finally makes it back or not.
  9. Santos pitched in the same game I believe.
  10. I'd be more interested in Tommy LaStella from Atlanta, even if it meant adding another piece. The Braves have shown interest in Boni.
  11. He gets drilled. Everyone in baseball would drill him. No biggie. Lesson learned. He took it like a man. Now if the Pirates had taken it too far and threw at his head, there would have been hell to pay.
  12. With the exception of Sunday's game, Bonifacio has done nothing but s*** the bed.
  13. 0 for 4 with a walk. I believe just his second game without a hit this season. Second or third anyway. Now hitting .417
  14. Yes, Beede. Brain cramp.
  15. Ok, fairly safe. Good hit skill.
  16. Don't worry, they'll probsbly take Stanek if he's available and his ceiling is certainly higher than Deck's. So for the couple of people who thought I was crazed-- who would rather have Kolten Wong over McGuire now?
  17. Austin Wilson or Colin Moran are nice safe mature hit skill first prospects who would move up quickly.
  18. I randomly picked the 2006 draft. Funny that's the year I chose. Toronto drafted Travis Snider 14th. Brad Lincoln (4th), Brandon Morrow (5th), Jeremy Jeffress (16th) and Kyle Drabek (18th) are all Jays.
  19. In MLB they have 8 dozen baseballs ready to go and more if needed. In AA and below they have 2 dozen. A ball with the tiniest mark gets thrown out of a Major League game. By the 5th inning of a MiLB game the balls are no better than BP balls for the Majors. An obvious advantage for pitchers.
  20. Jenkins was up for the spot start right? Have to imagine that he gets optioned later tonight or in the morning. Sierra, Negrych, Gose? Negrych isn't on the 40-Man Roster and Gose has been struggling a bit. I'm guessing Sierra, especially with Zito starting Tuesday.
  21. He has 3 already. 10-12 total the way the ball carries at the RC in the Summer at night isn't a stretch.
  22. Don't be shocked to look up in late September and see Izturis batting .270 with 10 HR.
  23. Izturis isn't the problem. He can play short, rarely strikes out and that batting average is creeping up. Bonifacio can't play the infield and Rasmus, Melky, Bautista, Davis, Sierra and Gose are better outfield options. I just don't see the point of keeping a terrific athlete when he's so bad at baseball.
  24. Tonight 2-4 with a walk again. Now hitting .433
