  1. Yeah, would be good if he could stay consistent on these things. I get that you got to back your teammate, but he didn't have to be quite so dismissive of Holland.
  2. Fingers will be pointed.
  3. If Gibbons puts Price in, I am gonna go ballistic. Stop f***ing with Price.
  4. Eat it all you Cola doubters.
  5. Because he's had a below average six weeks offensively. Any time a player goes into a slump, that is the best time to trade him. Everybody knows that.
  6. World Series tickets go on sale tomorrow at 10 AM !!!
  7. Not really. Everyone loves Donaldson, and he's even more talented, and just as intense. The difference is that he doesn't whine, or have ridiculous bat-flipping antics. Sure, everyone loses it on a bad call in a critical situation once in a while, but Bautista does it every time he doesn't get a borderline call.
  8. I'm sure most of the players that have interacted with Jose's constant crying feel the same way. I know I couldn't stand Youkilis when he played for Boston. Doesn't mean he's not a good player, I just don't like him.
  9. I'm almost sixty and clinging tenaciously to #1. Who wants to go to a rave tonight?
  10. Season is not over, bitches.
  11. AA thinks Gibbons is great. Hopefully, the spotlight on his egregious post-season management will disillusion him. Unfortunately, managers that make it to the post-season rarely get fired. As for 'putting us over the top', we're going to have our hands full just getting back to where we are. In case you haven't noticed, we're going to be short a few starters next season. And after 2016, we lose EE and Joey Bats, so it's going to be a lot more difficult.
  12. And if the Mets beat the Cubs, it will support that narrative even more.

  14. We haven't made the playoffs in 20 years, and when we do, they have 70% of our games on weekdays, when we're still at work. Nobody else is getting the shaft quite like we are.
  15. I'm really surprised to see Volquez in the middle of this. He's usually such a soft-spoken, polite young man.
  16. I can't believe the Royals are letting Chris Young start. Awesome!!!
  17. I don't mind seeing guys get upset on a bad call in a close game. But when you're up 10-4, just STFU and take your seat.
  18. Lucky the offense came through big time, because Stroman has been awful. Don't think he even has a strikeout all night. Would be good to let Hendricks pitch 2 or 3 innings. We haven't even used him in the postseason yet. This game is not over though, even thought it should be.
  19. Probably just saved about $2.5 million dollars. Next year Travis replaes Goins, and Goins replaces Barney. But no one can ever replace Kawasaki.
  20. So far, Colabello is hitting .375 with a .400 OBP Despite that he's only scored twice, other than the time he hit himself home. Ben Revere is hitting .219 with a .242 OBP. But he's fast! So, obviously he has to be our first batter, getting more bats than anyone else on this team. I have to wonder how many extra runs we would have scored if Colabello was batting leadoff instead of Revere.
  21. They have some pretty choice words about Bautista. http://eedition.toronto.24hrs.ca/epaper/viewer.aspx I think if we're being honest, we'd all strongly dislike him if he didn't play for Toronto.
  22. The Blue Jays essentially had to make a choice. We only have Bautista and Encarnacion for one more year. No one is going to blame them if they leave. They both signed pretty team friendly contracts, and committed to Toronto. The window for us being competitive is essentially this year and next. We could have either decided to go all-in, or we could have decided to trade away Bautista and EE to start the rebuilding process early. The Price trade is terrible long term, but I think the Jays decided to go for it this year, when the AL East was pretty bad, except for the Yankees. At that point, they were probably thinking wildcard, and probably needed an ace to get us through. Things turned out better than we thought, especially with Stroman returning early. But, potentially playing a wildcard game with Estrada/Dickey/Buehrle as our starter probably didn't sit too well with the Jays execs who paid a high price to maximize our chances to get through to the first round.
  23. Actually, without Price, we probably would have won the division anyway. We finished 6 games ahead of the Yankees. Price started a total of 11 games, The Jays won 9 of those games and lost 2. But, if we assume, that the Jays would have given up an average of 6 runs per game, without Price pitching, we still would have won 5 of those games. So, that means Price won four games for us, that we would have lost otherwise. In which case, we would have won the division by two games. Granted, that doesn't factor in bullpen rest etc, that Price was able to provide by pitching late into the game.
  24. But you may need to change your proxy over to a non North American one.
