  1. Not sure, gonna have to do some research.
  2. That's right.
  3. I'm out if Dinger's pick is changed. Fair and square. This will be my new meme, whenever something is not precisely to my liking.
  4. Come on Spanky, you got to be a little more subtle than that when you make your fake accounts so you can play with the newbies.
  5. Have we finished with the draft for the divisions? I thought there was three picks left? Are we still on Cyborg?
  6. Don't worry about it, GD. Most people appreciate your eagerness and how active you are. And mistakes happen. The key is to be in a league where people are all easy-going, and don't freak out because a decision doesn't go the way they want it.
  7. You know what's pretty cool? The people at the bottom of the draft are arguing for the result to stand. And the people at the top of the draft, are arguing for it to be re-rolled. That speaks well of the character of the participants involved. Given that, I think we should be able to find a compromise. So, On the 're-roll' side, the commissioner didn't sanction the initial ordering (a commissioner's duty), and is concerned that an impromptu ordering will harm the credibility of the league. Fair enough. On the 'keep' side, many feel that because there was a witness, there's clearly no rigging, and people have been given expectations, it would be unfair to redo at this point. Also a fair point. As a labour negotiator in real life, and because there are legitimate arguments to both sides: here is my proposal. 1) We do a random generator with only two results. Re-Roll or Keep. 2) In advance, participants (at least 12) agree to accept the results, regardless of the outcome. 3) We generate the results, and either keep (50)% or reroll (50%). Given the Christian generosity of spirit shown by all participants, we can overcome this vicious attempt to ruin the birthday of Jesus by a person of the Semitic persuasion.
  8. Since you asked: 1) GD mentioned he was going to do it, before he did it, and there wasn't much in the way of objections. 2) At least one other person was e-mailed the draft order, directly from draft order results, so it's not like GD could have rolled 5 times and just kept the one he liked the best. 3) If GD was 1 and TRM was 2, I'd ask for a reroll, but given that these guys are 13 and 19 respectively, I can't see them rigging the system or even a perception of rigging. So, I say let it stand (and given that I'm 18th, I don't have any self-interest in keeping it how it is).
  9. Not sure how the playoffs work in this league, so I don't know if there's an advantage to drafting someone krappy for your division.
  10. Don't worry about it man. Nobody understands what that guy is saying, when he's in one of his stupors.
  11. Sorry man, We're looking for people who have established some kind of presence. If it's your first post, and you just started your account this month, it's pretty optimistic to think you'll be committed. Post more often, and we'll let you in next time around.
  12. Yeah, you just do it on the side. So, that when the draft starts, you have an idea of who you value the most. Ideally, you want to have a list all sorted out in advance - otherwise you'll end up using the Yahoo rankings as a rough guide which are geared towards a 5x5 fantasy league, so they're going to overvalue some stats and ignore others. I think it would probably be best to do an offline draft, so you won't have the same time pressure as an online draft. Plus, it's easier to coordinate.
  13. Not true. Gordon and Altuve still have very high value in a net steals format (perhaps even higher than standard). You're actually hurting guys like Starlin Castro, who attempt a lot of steals but get busted a lot. It's not a points scoring system, it's H2H by category, so the guys with a bigger distance between steal and net steals become even more valuable.
  14. Yeah, wouldn't be right to set up a dynasty league with unproven players. Probably too many guys dropping out, which frustrates the players who are going for a long term strategy. But I fully expect we'll be able to identify many decent fantasy players from this, who we can include in the new dynasties that start up or as replacement owners.
  15. Wow, this is all happening so fast. Nice!
  16. OK, we're up to 12-14 out of 20. Not bad for nine hours. At this rate we'll probably have all we need by tomorrow, unless people put Christmas ahead of fantasy baseball.
  17. Of course. Got to get started somewhere.
  18. In theory, if we finalize the top 20 players, set up the league in Yahoo (or wherever), and set the draft order, we could be trading picks on Christmas. Are we going to do a separate MilB and MLB draft?
  19. Yup. Got to wait to see if we can get 20 people though. Things are looking good though. But you can start ranking your picks to get ready. I'll be giving out some pointers on how to draft later. We'll set the draft date a couple of weeks after we get 20 signed up, to give everyone time to get ready and make their prospect sheets.
  20. Filling up pretty quick. Already have 6/7, and it's only been four hours. The forum definitely needs a way for the newbies to assert themselves into the fantasy fun. And the fact that people are checking out these forums in the offseason, 2 days before Christmas tells me they're probably pretty into baseball.
  21. We recently opened up a spot in one of our other leagues, and there is a lot of interest from some of the newer board participants. I thought it would be a good idea to start a new league, with new players. This league is just for new people that aren't in any of the big dynasty leagues: DDL, BBDL or LOD. It will also be a proving ground, for those looking for a chance to get into one of the dynasty leagues, with the board veterans. I'm not going to participate, but I'll help organize and get it off the ground. Post here if you are interested. This will be a one-year league with the standard 7x7 categories done through Yahoo (free). AVG, OBP, SLG, R, RBI, HR, SB ERA, WHIP, K/BB, K, W, SV, HLD Sign up List: 1) Nafro 2)G-Snarls (woohoo, a moderator - this is becoming legit). 3)aselvana 4) Governator 5) TilsonBritoFan 6) FrozenRopes. 7) LetTheBallFly 8) Mahhhface 9) PinkFloid 10) Thomas Mathus 11) TBJ12 12) Junior Felix 13) Condor13 14) CanadianSportsJunkie 15) Wanderer If any of these people are terrible trolls, let me know, and we'll make sure they're serious before letting them in. Possible: (we'll try to give new peeps a chance first, but if we need to fill it, we can extend it to existing fantasy players). GD NJH
  22. Corey Seager. But in fairness, it's going to be an uphill battle, as there's not a lot of depth on this team.
  23. LOL. OK. I notice you left yourself in the good pile though. Maybe you can give me some tips.
