  1. Feel kind of bad for the guy. He seemed so sincere in not knowing where the steroids came from. Not sure if he's legit or just going all in. Because at this point, if he admits it, plus the fact that he's been so terrible, it's probably the end of his career. And you can kind of understand why he'd do it, when the juice makes the difference between getting paid $20,000 a year, staying in Motel-8's, and riding the bus, whereas with steroids, he get $500k per year, four star hotels, and charter planes.
  2. OK, confirming that I'm taking Neidert. Messaged Havok
  3. Hey guys, I'm gonna be out all day. So if my turn comes up, just pick the same guys I picked from BBDL. Roniel Raudes Tyler Mahle Nick Neidert Thanks,
  4. Don't let them get to you, la potage. My first year of fantasy baseball, they accused me of intentionally trying to tank, and being so bad at fantasy baseball that I imbalanced the league. Vanland cried buckets of tears. Then I ended up winning the league and shutting everybody up. Maybe you can do the same.
  5. At the very least, the mistake he made was in not trading away all of his draft picks, and scooping up super late picks. He could have drafted all these same guys pretty much for free while extracting some level of MLB talent for his first and second round picks.
  6. I kind of get the mindset of drafting guys with good stats. But he's clearly not looking at age or level, which is a rookie mistake. Was hoping he'd clear it up after his first pick, but he seems to be all-in on the list that he's prepared. So, he blows a draft and learns the hard way. Not the end of the world. Next time, at the very least, he can just play it safe and draft from the order guys were drafted by the big clubs.
  7. Let's wait on the details. If he died by alcohol poisoning or got shanked by a stripper, then that would be dishonouring his memory.
  8. All this without someone to publicly shame slow drafters? I didn't think that was possible.
  9. Sexually, verbal or just regular?
  10. Guys relax. He gets it. You don't like his pick. No need to all pile on. 90% of our picks are never gonna contribute anyways. He probably didn't take age/level into account, when he was looking at his numbers. Rookie mistake that most of us have made before.
  11. It's not that it's a bad pick necessarily. all these guys are crapshoots, but you could have taken him much later. Generally, 21 year olds in rookie ball aren't that sought after. Oh, le potage!
  12. Yeah, it is very weird. You have to pick between the most recent MLB draft, recent international signings, and guys who just slipped through the cracks. Hard to rank them.
  13. You're probably right. I just hate drafting high school kids with no track record. Besdies, my plan is to immediately trade him to whoever owns Fernando Rodney.
  14. Was thinking of trading down, and grabbing him later, but didn't want to risk it. Don't really feel like taking one of the 18 year olds that might be good in 4-5 years.
  15. Part of the issue is that AAA is a wasteland. Who do we call up if we need a 1st baseman? Jesus Montero? Who do we call up if we need a starter? Scott Diamond? It's awful down there, probably the worst depth of any team in MLB. If the Jays can't attract and keep mediocre talent in AAA, then they need to start paying guys, between 100,000 and 500,000 to stay all year, getting shuffled between MLB and AAA. Maybe it costs us a few million, but definitely worth it.
  16. I was never supposed to do well in this league (this year). I would have thought trading Chris Sale away for prospects would have made that obvious. Going long term, which was why I picked young players over Ortiz types. Not going full-Gibbers here though. Still have an outside chance of making the playoffs this year, and next year looks great.
  17. It must be a pretty easy league, if you haven't quit yet.
  18. I would hope so. I didn't draft to win this year. About building a dynasty.
  19. Unlikely. The competition is too good here. What makes DDL special is the painstakingly perfect collection of inept baseball minds. It's like a self-help group for those who need an ego boost when they feel down about their fantasy baseball performance.
