  1. Do you own any Jesse Winker in any of your leagues?
  2. Let's hope he lasts at catcher. We have enough good but slow hitters who can't play anywhere but first base and DH.
  3. Rowdy is starting to look pretty legit: .294/.362/.539 Better against righties than lefties, but still good enough numbers against lefties (333/375/429) that he can play every day.
  4. Powell might be able to get away with it, but FVV is going to seriously hurt his upcoming contract if he goes through with it.
  5. Seconded. Just permaban this *******. No room for s*** like that.
  6. Didn't run after he hit the ball. If the guy doesn't respect the unwritten rules, he won't respect the actual rules either. Brett Lawrie 2.0 No thanks.
  7. These MLB writers definitely get on the hype train. I remember when Kevin Maitan was a lock to be the next A-Rod. Byron Buxton and JP Crawford dominated the top spots for years.
  8. These are the kind of conversations you share with your perverted uncle over a beer, not share on baseball forums.
  9. I think the point is that they learned from their earlier mistake and didn't want to make that same mistake again.
  10. Who could have predicted that?
  11. That's great news. I was a little worried that Martin would have 2nd overall expectations that would be hard for the Jays to meet with 5th overall slot money.
  12. Why stop there? Don't let catchers or shortstops hit. Or better yet, have an offensive team and a defensive team. Put a bunch of fat, old, slow unathletic *******s in for everyone.
  13. Could be a bit more challenging to sign him if Martin is expecting #2 pick money. Not signing a guy in this environment might not be so bad though, as it's a bit more of a krapshoot this year. Next year, you're going to have a much better idea of how good/ready these kids are whereas this year the scouting was pretty limited.
  14. Damn, the entire middle infield of my dream team.
  15. I don't think it's gonna happen. NHL and MLS are close to cancelling. All the major sports are gonna follow suit. And people thinking this is just for a month are delusional. This will change our way of lives until the cure is developed. i'd say most public events are gonna be shut down for a year, and leaving the house will be largely discouraged except for basic necessities.
  16. 2020 Season will be cancelled mid-season, as most of the US goes under quarantine.
  17. Sounds like you would have been as pissed as I was over that trade. I only forgave the Jays for that after they brought Tony back to win their 2nd WS with them.
  18. Honestly, can we retire 'trape'? Likening a bad trade to rape is pretty offensive.
  19. Walker went nowhere until has last two years. I think we'll see Bonds, Schilling and Clemens all make it in, in their last year of eligibility.
  20. I don't know, but I'd like to shake his hand. All the Yankees fans are going ballistic. Apparently, Jeter is the greatest baseball player of all time - better than Ruth, Mantle, Maris, JR, etc. Phil Hughes even suggested they change the way people vote for HOF because Jeter wasn't unanimous.
  21. What if you use tomorrow's starter to close out a meaningless game, because you have a lot of money on it.
  22. This trade was all about the Jays getting Woods-Richardson. Kay was just a throw-in. Jays are expecting ace-like stuff out of Woods-Richardson in 2021, which fits in well with our timelines.
  23. Maybe stop posting naked pictures of them online.
  24. Teams that go back to cities after a first failed attempt almost always do better, because: The young generation: 16-30 go to anything new, just to be a part of things. The previous generation is going to want to go, as they have fond memories of it (something the Expos didn't have going for them the first time around). The dollar is better than it was then, and the Canadiens haven't sniffed a Stanley Cup since before the Expos moved. I think the team could do well. Montreal is often cited as the best location for a new expansion team.
  25. They're building a new stadium. The other important thing is that Montreal is 1st on the list to get a new team. And once a team loses half its games, it's only a matter of time, before they lose their team all together. Can you imagine going to Tampa games in the first half of the season, and then not getting to see them in September during the playoff hunt?
