  1. I think everyone in the league should make their team avatar a picture of Donaldson when they face you.
  2. Exactly. One could even consider these situations "sell highs" because you're moving them before they're potentially worthless. We'll see this happen A LOT with prospects in the upcoming years of our dynasty league. Actually, we just did see it. You could say that I just bought low on Gyorko. However, he could easily suck next year, become worthless, and end up being a great sell by BTS.
  3. The enforcement of that rule is terrible. He's clearly well off the baseline when he makes that lateral side-leap. I wish they actually called more batters out for this.
  4. The problem with the terms "buy-low" and "sell-high" is that they aren't really accurate. In a situation like this, you wouldn't be moving Craig for "low", but for fair value given the circumstances. The discount you are giving (relative to Craig's career production) is offset by the risk factor being transferred to the new owner. The risk factor that these struggles could be an ongoing problem, leading to serious declines in year-to-year production. I'm not singling Craig out individually. I haven't even looked much into his struggles; I'm just addressing these types of deals as a whole. Ultimately, I stay away from these kinds of deals because I see them as nothing more than a 50-50 gamble. You both know all the same information; either he returns to pre-2014 Craig and Team A wins, or he never recaptures his career numbers and Team B wins. Pretty much the only two reasons I'll make trades are: 1) To adjust for positional needs/positional depth (team management I guess) and 2) If I see a blatant gap in value in how another manager and I value an asset. To conclude this mammoth post, the only time I get on board with buy-low/sell-high trades is when the owner flies to close to either extreme (i.e. buying/selling at a price too close to their actual 2014 line).
  5. Okay deal. I get Lee, you get Bautista, BTS gets Martinez. Now how are we splitting up Fraizer, Verlander, and Hudson?
  6. I'll probably have to jump into the Cliff Lee sweepstakes soon with the way my pitchers are dropping like flies.
  7. Wait, so hypothetically you're saying that if I was the owner, you're not allowed to confirm to me because it's confidential from myself.
  8. Who knows, maybe age 42 Cliff Lee would have also outperformed age 30 Madison Bumgarner, had he gone further.
  9. The only thing he did wrong in the entire saga was "The Decision" program. I agree with him not owing them anything.
  10. Remember when Grant said Cliff Lee's age 41 season will outproduce Madison Bumgarner's age 29 season? Good times.
  11. Yeah I'm trying to decide if that post-trade interest was legit, or trolling at BTS' expense.
  12. If anyone is interested in a Gyorko for SP type deal, let me know. Also willing to include prospects/picks depending on who it is.
  13. You're a good salesman. Now I might consider scooping him up off waivers next week.
  14. Let's play a midseason game. List your biggest surprise, and biggest letdown at both the MLB/MiLB levels this year. Biggest MLB Surprise: Adam LaRoce. I picked him up from North for the 116th pick last offseason. I was expecting decent counting stats with a .800 OPS being a possibility. His .400+ OBP has been a huge crutch for my offense, and he's done a great job from the cleanup spot in the Nats lineup. (Honorable mentions: Charlie Blackmon, Ian Kinsler) Biggest MLB Letdown: Easily Eric Hosmer. This offseason he was probably considered a top 50 dynasty player by most. He's been brutal this year. The power has evaporated, he's not stealing, and he's struggling against the fastball. I'm praying for a second half turn around. (Honorable mentions: Justin Masterson, Curtis Granderson) Biggest MiLB Surprise: I don't have much to choose from, but Josh Bell. Improved on last year's good year, and has landed himself on both Top 50 lists. A strong finish could have him in the top 30. Biggest MiLB Letdown: Reese McGuire. It's my own fault, I made an uneducated pick at the time. McGuire is similar to Hedges in that most of his value is tied to defense. It doesn't matter if McGuire is great behind the plate if he provides minimal to zero fantasy value. I spent a 9th pick on him and it's turned out terribly. At least I've learned from that error.
  15. I'm just thrilled to have two in the top 50 (48 still counts!) Severino just made the cut.
  16. Also WTF BP is slacking I thought they were supposed to have their top 50 up today. I'm so god damn antsy to see the entire list.
  17. That's the spirit. That's the only way I've been able to get over dealing Jose Abreu for Jose Fernandez in my other league (one week before his season ended).
  18. Corey Dickerson Col-CF x LAD Corey Dickerson Col-CF x LAD Corey Dickerson Col-CF x LAD Corey Dickerson Col-CF x LAD Corey Dickerson Col-CF x LAD
  19. That's not even factoring in what happens when Drew Pomeranz comes off the DL (end of July-ish).
  20. The Cubs pretty much have CJ Edwards/Pierce Johnson and that's it as far as pitching prospects go. Both are having underwhelming/injury bitten years as well. I would love to try and flip Sanchez/Norris for an infielder (Bryant isn't going anywhere, but Baez could be a nice buy-low candidate). It makes sense for both clubs and we can probably get good value taking advantage of their need for SP youth. The Cubs could always end up moving Bryant to RF and Baez at 3B. Still have to move one of Russell/Castro though.
  21. I think what's better than the switch to Wrigley is that he'll now be surrounded by a core of Bryant/Baez/Soler!
