That's pretty much the same thought process I have. Another owner might have given more, but this deal itself (and the concept of selling Tulo) makes sense.

Both Simon and Despaigne are turds, but at least Despaigne is a younger turd. Simon should still be a decent source of wins and he seems to always out-pitch his peripherals.

Okay I need your advice. This trade went down in a 12 person league where I'm the commissioner. Basically some want it vetoed, some say it's okay. Troy Tulowitzki for Jake Arrieta + Corey Dickerson Basically the owner in 7th (6 teams make the playoffs) is worried Tulo might be out a long time so did this trade. Is it lopsided enough to veto or is it a legitimate deal due to Tulo's health?

I think the biggest obstacle that we didn't even mention is Tulo's injury. If he's shelved for longer than expected, it's going to be a tough hill to climb. (Don't mind us jaysblue, we're like wild coyotes talking every fringe playoff team into launching a fire sale)

Are you going for it this year, or looking to trade a few pieces and build towards next year? (I'm guessing by your comment you are, but in the past you've hinted at trading a few older pieces)

Not in our settings. I think the problem is that most playoff teams already have their OF/UTIL spots covered. I already have to bench a capable bat every day. Rajai is a solid piece but he's no better than anyone I'm sending out right now.
