    Honestly I like it.. It's a buy-low on a guy who at worst is gonna be worth 2.5-3 with the glove/baserunning. He's locked in for 5 of his prime years. The cost was f*** all. It's a solid get, especially considering that Horwitz's ABs are marked for Wagner. It's an even better move if we jettison Bo or make the assumption that we indeed will lose him for nothing. In the context of no other moves(Jimi excluded) It's s***** that we haven't loaded up... that being said this isn't that bad so far. One of Santander/Teo and a Burnes signing/Pitching trade and we will all be very happy.

    Pretty reasonable response imo. People don't tend to rob minor s*** if they can't pay their own way. It's a problem when minor league athletes make less cash then line cooks.

    Thats what I said. Get some Hi-A or AA talent that fits the window. This rotation is at least a couple pieces away and we need top end pen arms.

    Interesting that I'm the one thats gets a mute on that thread. You asked me to discontinue the conversation and I did. I get that the board is mostly rural conservatives and older guys but c'mon man. I've been here since day one, and was on the MLB boards for a decade before that.. I may not post much but I am here every day. That should earn a little rope.

     

    Calling out people that dismiss legit issues can be done in a better place but I wasn't the guy calling people pussies and talking s***. None of these keyboard warriors would say a damn thing to me in person. Delving into a Politics thread lorded over by a bunch of CPC/PPC diehards seems like banging my head against the wall.

    This right here is how we end up with literal white supremacists in power. We see it all the time in all sports. Guys like Stroman, Evander Kane, Floyd Mayweather.. Are all held to a different standard then white athletes. Mainly because so many fans are mildly racist white conservatives. Guys like Patrick kane can rape women, guys like Bauer can be literal human garbage yet Stroman being loud and emotional is treated worse. This is do different then cracker players whining about bat flips. A bunch of Trump/Scheer/Ford/Kenney enthusiasts lambasting a young athlete because he doesn't uphold the traditional "white" standard of shut up and play ball. Go collect your CCP cheque and let the young educated people handle societal issues.

    It's so easy to tell which posters are boomer white conservatives. Zero concept of societal racism or dog whistles.. Mainly cause they have never been affected by it. The guy above is dead on.. Stroman is treated the way he is because he is a loud, brash young black man. The double standard is out of hand. Bauer is a literal MAGAt douchebag who talks down teenage girls on twitter and he takes less s*** then Stroman. It's laughable and if you don't think race is a clear issue then you are out to lunch. Bubble boy.

    I don't mind the return.. Just one thing grates on my nerves. Atkins. Everything about him is a bitch. His nasally voice, his inability to give eye contact, his stammering hesistant answers. It isn't hard to imagine a guy like BVW leading negotiations and intimidating Atkins through the whole process. Like I said no issues with the trade.. I think Kay will be a solid rotation piece and I love the dice roll on SWR. Just with we had more of an Alpha and people person at the helm.

    Not taking Graterol should buy you something. In this case Rooker. Unless internally they now rank Balazovic higher, which is possible. Frankly I'd be happy with Balazovic +Duran for Stro.. Giles should buy something but anything more then a fringe top 100 guy is likely wishful thinking. Duran is dealing this year, much like Muller on Atlanta.. Get them now as they will be top 100 guys next year.
