From what I have seen it seems to take bigs much longer to develop, so I have faith that JV will turn it around on the defensive end. Has all the tools.
Agreed with Ross, I think he is a better talent than Demar. Already a really solid defender with a great 3pt shot, his handle is actually not bad and can clearly finish in traffic. I think he just needs more reps and experience.
If we keep the main core of Lowry, Ross, Amir, JV, Patterson, Demar (I wouldn't be against trading him, but he's not a negative asset anymore) and build around them we could have a contender on our hands, just as Miami may be coming apart.
After next season we should have a lot of cap room, with a competent GM. Color me optimistic.
