  1. Jesus Christ it's another f***ing pitch outside of the zone by like 4 inches and it's immediately called a strike and Jays at the edges can't buy a strike.
  2. To be fair IKF hasn't been bad this year. He has 1 DRS at 2B and 2 at 3rd already, he's hit for 101 wRC+. I do think the OF should likely be Schneider, Varsho, Springer with KK as the 4th OF and Clement should be starting everyday as well.
  3. This umpire is f***ing awful.
  4. Vlad is the most frustrating player on the roster to me. He has all the potential in the world with the bat but it feels like unless he has a lot of other good bats around him, think in 2021 with Springer, Hernandez, Bichette, Semien, he pushes too hard and expands the zone, is too aggressive at the plate and just f***ing sucks.
  5. Kirk since July 1st of 2022 has hit for a 93 wRC+ with a .248/.330/.340 triple slash. Jansen in that same time frame has a 124 wRC+ .244/.329/.475 triple slash. I really cannot wait for Jansen to get back.
  6. It’s been a frustrating start to the season but I’m going to give it until the end of May before I come to any conclusions about the team. Kirk looks like June 22 to present Kirk which has been like a 660OPS bat, Varsho looks a bit better than last year but still has holes but I think a more league average season can be in the cards. KK looks cooked and Clement and Schneider have looked fine so far. Springer, Bichette and Guerrero need to do something and we need Jansens bat back. Mayza is the only core reliever who looks wrong and his velocity looks like it’s down 3mph. Starting has looked for the most part decent but we’re only on the 2nd turn so need to give it a bit more time.
  7. I think the four man platoon between 2B/3B is going to be a bit more complicated than just a straight RHP or LHP setup. There's going to be considerations of the opposing pitchers stuff and repertoire so if someone has a pronounced weakness you can put them on the bench (Schneider and high fastballs as an example) but if we have guys who allow more balls in play you may trade a bit of offence for better D. I wouldn't be surprised to see a game like today with Vogelbach starting at DH and Turner at 2B and Turner coming out in favour of Clement or Schneider after 3 at bats.
  8. What’s the synopsis for those of us without twitter who can’t see the thread.
  9. I like this idea a lot.
  10. Foods are weird, I eat garlic and get lower back pain lol.
  11. He hasn't thrown in weeks at this point, unless the team and medical staff think he'd only be 2-3 weeks in the minors to get MLB ready there's no harm in putting him on the 60 and letting him build up like he was in spring training before going on a rehab assignment.
  12. If Manoahs BP tomorrow goes poorly he could start the year on the 60 day which frees an additional 40 man roster spot.
  13. C. Kirk 1B. Guerrero Jr 2B. Biggio 3B. IKF SS. Bichette LF. Varsho CF. KK RF. Springer DH. Turner Bench Clement - Util Severn - C Schneider - 2B/LF (Platooning with Biggio and KK) Vogelbach SP Gausman Berrios Bassit Kikuchi Francis BP White Parsons Garcia Cabrera Mayza Richards Green Pearson Rotation and bullpen are just as they came to me not in any particular order. IL: Romano, Swanson, Jansen and Manoah who will be a 60 day IL placement as I don't even think he's throwing and this opens the 40 man roster spot for Vogelbach or Severn. I think we also see Espinal traded before opening day for either an A ball prospect with a moderate amount of potential or cash to free up the salary space and 40 man roster spot. As an edit I would not be surprised to see Turner starting games at 2B with Vogelbach DHing if it's against a pitcher he has a history of success with before Turner is subbed out after getting 3 at bats for a defensive replacement.
  14. I love me some Votto. He’s my favourite player of all time and as much as I want him to now be a player for us I still want the best team going north.
  15. Chapman was a better player than IKF in 2023 but IKF was the better hitter from May 1st on. I could see IKF putting up similar 1.4 win value to what Chapman did from May 1st in. I could see him doing better as well. I still stick with my 89 win guess.
  16. 89 wins Orioles Jays Yankees Rays Red Sox All teams above .500 no team wins more than 93 games.
  17. I think IKF is probably going to get into 140-150 games. If Vogelbach makes the team I see Turner starting a fair amount of games at either 2B or 3B and getting 3 at bats before IKF subs in defensively. I still feel pretty good about this team going into 2024. I think a healthy Jansen, Kirk’s adjustments in the second half and Guerrero, Springer and Varsho regressing positively is what the team needs to bank on. If Guerrero and one of the others doesn’t bounce back offensively I don’t think any one signing other than Ohtani actually helps this team.
  18. IKF outhit Chapman from May 1st to the end of the season even with Chapmans amazing July or August. I don’t expect IKF to be some amazing player I think he may get to 2 WAR and I wouldn’t be surprised if he spends a lot of time off the bench against RHP with Vogelbach DHing and something like Turner starting at 2B and being subbed after 3 at bats. The biggest improvement this team can get is a healthy Jansen, he’s been the teams best hitter since May of 2021 and Guerrero, Springer and Kirk regressing positively. Kirk finished the year with a 118 wRC+ IIRC. Varsho I’m not as concerned about as the other 3 as he was league average or better against all pitching other than RHP at home where he was at 35 wRC+.
  19. When it comes to the Orioles I think they'll end up around 91 wins but I wouldn't be surprised by a .500 record of a 100+ win season either. They have so much potential but that pitching is still very questionable.
  20. I thought KK mentioned he had other offers including multi-year deals but his family loved Toronto and he loved the team and the playing time.
  21. I think if Chapman signs a shorter team deal or with opt outs early it will be with Toronto because of the compensation pick. Similar reason I think Bellinger ended up back with the Cubs.
  22. Out of curiosity has anyone seen any Sportsnet now promo codes?
  23. There was a promotional video I saw earlier on the Jays twitter and Kirk looks a lot smaller. Still not small but smaller than last year for sure.
  24. Surprisngly I've seen it pop up on reddit and a bleacherreport forum that has a Jays insider who's been really accurate with leaked information for the past four or five offseasons.
  25. There’s been some rumblings on the interweb of an Espinal, Horwitz and prospect package out there for an OF. That would clear some of the 40 man roster space.
