  1. The reasoning that we DFAd Valencia from my understanding is that we're making another roster move after the game today that will result in us optioning a pitcher to bring up an OF. They wanted to keep the long 'pen as Dickey is going on shortened rest and there's a good chance that because Valencia was done on August 1st he's on revocable waivers (though I may be wrong on that) and there's a good chance instead of him being traded for 20k like generally happens he may be traded to someone for 500k. The plan going forward will be to have Pillar, Bautista, Revere and a 4th OF (Pompey) going forward with Travis, Smoak and Cola (platoon) Goins, Donaldson, EE, Tulo going forward. I think that it was the wrong move and that Cola should have been let go with Valencia kept as he has a lot more utility.
  2. If more moves are coming it better be Schultz or Loup for Pompey.
  3. So we solve the backup mif issue but now we don't have a back up of. You just known they're getting rid of Smoak when Travis is healthy because its also a stupid move.
  4. Any idea or word of who is being optioned at the end of the game? I'd imagine tepera for sure but we need one for Revere as well and probably a mif
  5. I still think Saunders is their #1 guy with Revere being a guy that can come in late, steal a base, play D, play 3-4 games a week and keep Saunders, Pillar and Bautista fresh.
  6. You think Carrera goes before Colabello? Carrera can at least play all 3 OF positions. Colabello (since June 2nd) has hit for a .320 wOBA, 101 wRC+, .274/.313 with horrendous D. He should not be on the team at all.
  7. I like this trade as it now gives us a CF that can platoon with Pillar and also play LF when Saunders is back to provide him time off as well.
  8. A bench of Carrera (as I don't see them calling up Pompey) Navarro Valencia and Kawasaki until Travis is healthy, swap Kawaski with Goins when he is. Send down Tepera to make room for Lowe and Colabello to make room for Revere. So my answer is the bench spot.
  9. I'm going from Disapprove to Neither Approve nor Disapprove. The work he did this year still doesn't really out weigh the horrendous trades he did with Miami and New York.
  10. So that we have a back up MIF while Travis is hurt and Goins is starting, that should be beyond obvious.
  11. Hoping to see tepera optioned and Kawasaki recalled as well as sending down colabello to make room for Revere.
  12. I'd hit Revere 8th as he can score on a Pillar single.
  13. I like the idea of a Valencia and Revere platoon in LF if you're comfortable letting Smoak face LHP. My worry is this means we're going to send Carrera down and keep Chris Colabello (101 wRC+ since the start of June) and his horrendous defence around.
  14. Does this mean the end for Colabello when Travis is back? One can only hope. I'm not a huge Revere fan but if you can slot him into the bottom 3rd of the order, hitting in front of someone like Pillar or Goins he's someone that scores on a single. He should not be our lead off hitter. I do like the idea of seeing a line up of Travis, Donaldson, Bautista, Tulo, EE, Smoak, Martin, Revere, Pillar though.
  15. I'm assuming this means Tepera is being sent down. What other pen arm is getting optioned for a back up MIF becomes the question.
  16. No pick back as per the most recent CBA.
  17. That was also 3 years ago.
  18. I'm thinking we might see Norris, Boyd and Smith Jr.
  19. MLBTR saying that Heyman says it's a done deal. Price to Toronto, no price listed as of yet.
  20. Kenny Ken is hearing the trade is imminent and that it might be Norris and Alford.
  21. MOAR RUMOURS NAOW! My f5 can only take so much.
  22. If we get Price who do you see going the other way? I'd assume Norris is a 100% lock.
  23. I have no issues with it in general, but you should have exceptions to the rule. Let's say Roy Halladay of the mid 2000s was available but he wanted 6 years instead of 5, would you not bend that?
  24. I think it's purely Beeston to be quite frank.
  25. Odds are EE declines the trade.
