Unless the commissioners office comes out and says it was not in regards to the slide. If it was in regards to the slide then I'd expect EVERY player going forward to be fined and suspended for it.
It'll be Burns sent down when Travis is activated I imagine. I just hope Gibby doesn't platoon Travis with Goins. If he does he needs to be fired immediately.
It would be more entertaining (I mean entertaining at all) if he cut the just kidding part. If he could dead pan his "It's a bit more difficult than little league" and move on it would be hilarious.
That rotation that year would've been fun though. Doc, Burnett, Lilly, Meche and then the s*** pipe that was Chacin, Janssen, Towers, Marcum, Taubenheim, McGowan.
I think Ryan Goins is one of those players who looks better defensively than he actually is. People talk about him on broadcasts being the best defensive second baseman Toronto's ever had and that's insane when you've had Orlando Hudson and Aaron Hill who during their Toronto tenure were insanely underrated defensively.
Goins is a well below average bat with average to above average D. When Travis is healthy I'm hoping that Shatkins takes advantage of Goins option (I believe he has one) to keep Barney and Dominguez as depth.
It's super frustrating to watch guys with his stuff do this. He doesn't pitch up in the zone at all and seems to miss down and out so often that batters seem to just ignore stuff that is borderline at best.
I read somewhere, I think the same article, that he's being optioned after today's game. I don't know if it's for injury reasons (does another reliever need to DL) and we have him here right away if so.
He tweeted he's staying on the roster tonight. I read somewhere this morning (though I can't recall where) that said he was being kept up tonight, though I can't figure out why. Likely Matt Dominguez being called up.
I'm on Bell Fibe, I'm not spending $14/month to get the package that has SN1. I always used to use MLB.TV but didn't get it this season because we got Bell Fibe last summer.
Great game for Carrera and Tulo. Carrera's so frustrating, he's shown signs in his MiLB career that he might be a useful piece then shits the bed constantly at the MLB level and has games like today occasionally.
Pompey has turf toe, he's not going to get called up while that injury exists and Cecilliani is also injured though I don't know what with.
The other options we have over Zeke who are healthy are Lake and Brown and I don't know if either are actually better than Zeke.
