I wonder how Darvish feels now that an inferior (but still good pitcher) gets a way better contract than him 2 years later. Then again, it was a result of a change in posting rules.
Isn't Greinke's contract the same too? Amazing how inflated contracts are now.
I only said yes so that when the Jays are in contention and then they miss out because they didn't sign that one last pitcher in Tanaka..
you would all bow down to me!
Funny thing about the Cubs, Epstein earlier today said that he admits the Cubs are a last place team. So even if they get him, they may not be competitive at all. And Casey Close has shown in his previous negotiations to include an opt-out clause after x number of years. So Tanaka could sign a 6 year deal with an opt-out at 3 years.
It'll take a few years until studs like Bryant will be able to contribute, so the Cubs may not even take advantage of Tanaka if he were to blossom.
I remember reading about some dude who had posted on a snorkeling website asking for advice. He later drowned 2 weeks later, his forum posts still up there. Pretty morbid.
Turns out Jays were courting Hudson, or the other way around.

@dshemie8 @BlueJaysFacts like I've stated before, Tim Hudson is a family friend and he asked Colby about Toronto. But chose San Fran ....
AA needs to do something to help this rotation.
We finished last place with a terrible record and terrible pitching. We have already lost Johnson, but I'm not sure if that's addition by subtraction.
Do we really expect to compete in this division depending on guys like Drabek, Stroman and Hutchison?
Two of those guys cannot pitch the whole season and one of them is a duck. AA needs to be making a move on Tanaka or a +200 IP starter or else we'll be seeing the same results this coming season.
I wonder how it feels for the player knowing you are trying so desperately hard to make it to the bigs, but you have a stud player blocking you at the MLB level.
And even if you do hit well, people write you off as a fluke or AAAA player.
Rays asked for Santana, Salazar, Lindor, +

So no, Jays fans, you aren't going to get David Price for junk prospects, let alone E5.
Gibbers has always been known to be a second guesser, on this forum and on the last. He never admits when he is wrong. This forum is just one giant circlejerk.
