  1. "Anraku became an international sensation this year after his outings at Spring Koshien, where he touched 94 mph and threw 772 pitches in nine days, including a 232-pitch outing. That workload also sparked frustration from several scouts with major league clubs, who worry about how is usage will affect his long-term health."
  2. thought i'd give this a bump now that the tournament is over and this kid threw over 300 pitches with only 2 days rest between starts... http://www.baseballamerica.com/international/koshien-over-for-tomohiro-anraku-16-after-183-pitch-outing/
  3. What a depressing thought
  4. Agree. BUt SP1, SP2 and SP3 and C are the no brain concerns that should be at the top of the list.
  5. I think his peak will likely be in the .340 wOBA range with plus defense. His K rate is probably going to be anywhere from 15-20%, walk rate around 7% though I'd love to see that come up to around 10% or so. I don't think he'll ever be a 30 HR threat, probably 20 HR with 35+ doubles and possible 20 SB if he can refine that skill and get better jumps. All in all he could probably put up 6-7ish WAR at his peak in his best years if he really takes off, though I expect more of a 4.5-5 to be closer to what he'll attain.
  6. Lets see if pillar can do something useful with the bat
  7. Kawasaki is on paternity leave
  8. Three pretty bad AB right there, way too passive
  9. Nice inning
  10. Yep. Nice AB there even without a good result
  11. I see Jose is in one of his "swing at everything except strikes" moods tonight
  12. Very descriptive.
  13. I hope it does. It would be so simple to have 1 guy at every stadium with access to every angle, and any bang bang play of HR call can be instantly reviewed between pitches by that ump and not slow anything down by any real measure. Look how quick TV has replays up that are conclusive? Ay close play, ump from upstairs just buzzes down to the crew chief to say he's reviewing a play, and just says the call is good or not and it gets reversed or stands and play resumes as normal.
  14. I think he's been playing with a much more apparent "restrained intensity" lately. Didn't fly around like a retard after his walk off hit, isn't trying to rip people's arms off with high fives... But still extremely high effort
  15. I don't think anyone is lumping you in that category. I don't have an issue with someone being excited for anyone getting called up, but when you compare them to a guy like Profar... then it's gotta be pointed out as pretty silly.
  16. Voting was limited to those proficient in Braille.
  17. It's not about getting scolded, but really man you have to realize that a players age and how they perform against people older than them is one the single biggest indicators of future career success. Not taking it into account is just stupid.
  18. Who ended up screwing it up for you?
  19. IN related news, Bud Selig now fully accepts that E-mail is a thing.
  20. It is going to be a war room, all calls are going to be reviewed by a dedicated group in NYC. Owners still have to vote on it in November.
  21. Kawasaki scared Lester with his character there leading to the error
  22. That's what I was getting at captain obvious. Lol
  23. A good LF would have had that. Good thing Gomes is a s***** fielder
  24. Don't rag on deRosa, he showed a lot of character while almost killing that rally
