  1. He was still with the guardians last season and really sucked. He played winter ball in the DR, then was signed to a minor league deal by the Mets... sucked for their AAA team Syracuse, was released and grabbed by Arizona ...and now sucks for their AAA team in Reno
  2. For sure he's a stuff guy, but he just so far away level-wise and health wise it will be a few years before he works his way into the conversation. I guess Khal Stephen has worked his way into the convo now that he's up to AA. He's not a pure stuff guy so it will be interesting to see how it plays vs Yesavage.
  3. Maybe another Myles Straw would be a better comp...he hits well enough to still be employed.
  4. Anthony Gose did have great defense. He just couldn't hit worth a s***.
  5. Thats great for Khal and the organization. Cant wait
  6. I have tiedeman fighting for higher spot on the rotation with Yesavage. Their stuff is just too good for the back end.
  7. That's certainly a possibility. Rojas, along with Bloss, Estrada, Manoah, Macko, Francis, Lucas, Pina... those are probably the guys fighting over the 4-10 spots in the rotation/depth chart in the coming seasons unless something changes (it probably will). Hell, half those guys are injured currently or just coming back from injury. If I had to pick 3 of that list... yeah i'd probably go with Manoah, Rojas and Estrada as the guys that actually look like major league starters to some degree. The rest are just holding on to the "barely relevant" category due to current injury, just coming back from injury or just plain sucking in Buffalo. The wildcard in there is Angel Bastardo who might recover enough to throw some innings this season, hopefully being buried in the minors for rehab without having to be added to the 40 man. Hopefully he can be a something down the road too if he can refine his command enough.
  8. That was from June 24th. He started his rehab yesterday in the Complex league where he was scheduled to throw 2 innings or more depending on pitch count. Actual results? 0.1 IP, 1 hit, 4 runs, 3 ER, 2 BB, 1 K. 22 pitches, 10 strikes. He faced 5 hitters. Single, wild pitch, walk, HBP, walked in a run, strikeout, then was lifted. Next guy threw a wild pitch allowing a run, walked a guy, then induced what should have been an inning-ending double play, but after getting the force at 2nd, a throwing error allowed the 3rd and 4th runs to score. All in all, kind of a cluster f*** of an inning, but at least he didnt hurt himself.

  10. Awesome work brother. Keep that coming 8th round pick slot value was 238,600 10th was 193,500 Quick math...thats a pile to send to the overslot kids.
  11. I know its early, but any non-drafted guys signing yet? Last year the Jays popped 11 non-drafted guys in the days following.
  12. Miller just got himself hurt with the dreaded forearm strain. I'd still kick the tires but I'd be exceptional careful.
  13. From what I've read on Springer, the new hitting coach just has him focused on trying to do damage instead of justvtrying to put everything in play. At least 1 Aswing per PA kind of mentality. George himself said he had let that kind of mindset go and has brought it back I think it shows when ya look at his swing speed stats.. last season just over 1 in 5 swings was over 75mph, this season it's more than 1 in 3.
  14. I hear ya. Thing is, if the Jays were further down the standings and not looking at adding for 2026...he would be a worthy target. Pittsburgh always wants to dump salary because their owner is a cheap POS that is intent on ruining their franchise while pocketing 10s of millions in profits and seeing his team valuation climb every year. I'd be targeting Bednar from their roster right now. He fits very well in what the Jays want and has another season of control, and becomes a 3rd closer option.
  15. That would be my concern with Suarez as well. There's no doubt he'd be a steady offensive presence, but his downside in defense and baserunning could be a real problem if Santander also comes back healthy, logjamming the DH spot. He's absolutely worth it though if Santander is going to be out even longer than anticipated. Like, if a mid-September return for Taters is a thing, rolling the dice with Suarez majes way more sense. Mid-August...not so much.
  16. For me, the Hayes acquisition would be more of an offseason thing after Bo leaves, he really doesnt move the needle in 2025.. .. at the trade deadline their primary focus should be upgrading the team for a post-season run. I like where your head is at though and have enjoyed seeing your trade thoughts.
  17. True, but I'll roll those dice if the money is there and they're willing to sign
  18. Very much so. A round 1ish talent pitcher who dropped due to surgery, and a solid prep kid. Yes please
  19. Thats just it, he can still be an effective pitcher, just... not a top of the rotation guy. Him opting out is best case scenario at this point for the Jays and thats a pretty slim chance
  20. Heh, wrong GM there now for that.
  21. They could find many other options that don't have his price tag. Not saying this to dismiss your idea, clearly it would be advantageous for the Jays to get out from under his salary and somehow improve, its just that its pretty much a pipe dream. Moving Berrios now would be some wizardry on the level of the Vernon Wells trade.
  22. Value to whom though? Rebuilding teams arent taking him... teams already in the playoff picture arent gonna add him to not start a playoff game. He is what he is and is stick where he is. It will be a minor miracle if he opts out after next season.
  23. I've seen this kid play. The power is really there but the swing and miss is a legit concern. He's huge compared to the rest of the kids
  24. 7 picks on day 1 for Baltimore... lol System needs a tweak i think, something like...if you've got picks for letting FAs go, you don't also get competitive balance picks.
  25. Slappy LH hitting with limited power (for now), but has all the other tools. Easy to see why they like him, gonna be a lab experiment to unlock power
