    Of course players feel that way some days, theyre no different than anyone other human. Some days we all feel bulletproof. My point is, there's no correlation/causation to feeling "locked in" to performance. I'm willing to bet if there was a way to scientifically study what happens to every player on every day they felt "locked in" vs any other day, the same variances would exist. Humans make up all kinds of psychological stuff that isnt quantifiable to make themselves feel better about what happens in their day to day. That's how our brains work.

    yariel cant even throw a strike right now... and Cowser is up. I can't even picture a positive outcome of this PA.

    I know what Grant is saying, but it's like one of those things that can never be quantified. Like... use Bassitt as an example. A few starts ago he guts through 6 innings walks the tightrope, bends, but doesnt break and ends up giving the pen a break by eating up those innings. Some fans see starts like that .. the timing of them and make the leap that the pitcher was just somehow able to summon some extra fortitude on demand in order to clutch up. (not saying Grant is doing this... but we all know fans that do) Fast-forward to his last start and he got the sh*t kicked out of him, so it must be because he wasn't focused or wasnt trying. Same thing with Berrios. It's just that psychological projection that fans have with all sports. Its 99% made up and just helps fans either lay blame, or feel better.

    Nice, though I woukd have expected Bloss maybe to have dropped to a 45+ or something. Hes shown poorly at the MLB level, and even at AAA before this injury. That's usually grounds for them to drop a guy a rank.

    After Helsley yes. To replace Hoffman is your interpretstion. Most times the acquired "closers" become the 8th inning guys ahead of the in-house closer

    They have one of the easiest remaining schedules so ... yeah, it would be wise not to count them out.

    Not a huge fan of the bunt there, but let's face it, with Straw hitting against RHP thats probably the only way both guys were getting into scoring position

    Its the new way to beat teams, just hit 1 guy every game with a pitch and hope he gets hurt so he cant play against you the next day.

    I'd trust him over the guy who just got DFA'd. Granted, he likely wouldn't have been on the roster, but, Dominguez is a pure stuff guy, and Walker is pretty good at working with those guys and dialing them in.

    40 FV seems to the price for rentals this season, that's where he is at. His walk rate is up to 4.5 per 9 since the jump to AA. Dominguez only walked 1.4 per 9 at AA when he was 23. Not a very equal comparison Dominguez was already transitioning to a reliever but... just saying, we all have a tendency to over-value our own team's prospects. It's probably a fair-ish enough deal, even if we feel its an overpay

    Which they can afford to do given they have more revenue and less than half the players to pay it too, and usually between 3-5 players who actually matter.

    But you're not worried about JWB's walk rate as a starter in AA? On paper yeah it does seem like an overpay, but maybe you hadnt heard, Dominguez throws a splitter, he's already ahead of the other pen arms based on that alone.

    Is this that much different than those firms that give young players a bunch of up front money in return for a % of their lifetime earnings? I mean, its definitely different, but ...just seems both dumb and shady at the time

    He doesnt have to play like a 500 million dollar guy till next year. This year hes just has 30 million dollar schlubb expectations.

    Still so many fringe teams are undecided on whether to sell or not. Either other or their asking prices are ridiculous

    Seriously though, get your s*** together. LIke, running numerous MLB fan message boards is pretty easy in the grand scheme of things and not at all difficult and is pretty much done all with AI, demanding almost none of your time, so maybe in between smoking those Cuban cigars, doing lines of coke off the thighs of your "masseuse" and banging all those 10s on the daily, you could keep this place running a bit more smoothly. /sarcasm

    Watching Green pitch is like watching the Hindenburg explode in slow motion over and over again. At least hes being abused in blowouts and doubleheaders... he's cooked.
