  1. I'm not sure the NL doing that would be as benefical as it would be in the AL due to the P spot coming up right before the leadoff spot and that P spot kills many innings and could allow them to pitch around Harper in the important situations. With 1 out, you pitch to the P spot get to 2 outs and walk Harper. With 0 out, you pitch to the P spot, get the out, and walk Harper to set up DP. With 2 out, you just get the P spot out and Harper starts the next inning with nobody on base. I guess that assumes it's the P hitting, which in late game scenarios it would likely be a pinch hitter instead. ...
  2. Better than political garbage
  3. Let's not turn this into a sex thread too....
  4. Trout hasn't struck out yet so far this spring in 44 PA.
  5. Not to mention that neither have even played AA ball yet and haven't faced any real pitching talent in the spring. To me the only interesting question left for them this spring will be if they start in AA or Advanced A again.
  6. Espinosa is a minor league deal, neither Goins nor Barney would have immediately resigned to a minor league deal since both spent time on the major league rosters over the past 3 seasons. Both eventually did sign minor league deal with other teams because as we know, they aren't really good enough to be roster players. But really, the question you need to ask is why it matters what plan F for the infield is. If injuries to Tulo, Travis, Solarte, Diaz and then Ngoepe happen and Espinosa is needed, the Jays are f***ed either way and the season is likely over. The same would be true with either Goins or Barney or any other number of glove first no bat MIFs around baseball. He's really just a "in case of crisis, break glass" type of player with the slight possibility of some power upside. He's also had a history of being a positive value player with the exception of last season, so there's reason to have expectations that if he is needed, he can step in and not be a supreme black hole like Goins or Barney.
  7. I both admire your skills, and hate you.
  8. Can you dickheads take the obnoxious social justice ******** to the OT section is the Forum? There's plenty of threads there full of virtue signalling and whatever other crap people like to argue about. This section is for arguing about baseball f***
  9. Because Maile being a defense first backup is already his ceiling. Jansen can be a starter. You don't develop starting catchers by playing them twice a week
  10. f***, now I need to come up with a new twitter handle. I figured for sure that one wouldn't be taken
  11. Cliche I know, but the sound of the ball off hit bat is just different. It's incredible
  12. Interview with Shapiro....really interesting IMO https://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/mark-shapiro-blue-jays-prospects-tickets-renovations/ The final quote from Shapiro: "We’re going to go to as far as our starting pitching and our health takes us. If the starting pitching stays healthy and productive and we avoid longer-term, catastrophic-types of injuries, then we’ll be playing meaningful games through the end of the season and hopefully into October. We’re still at a point where it’s a little bit fragile. There’s still that underlying reality that we need to stay healthy, but I think that’s true for almost every team."
  13. Would make sense, he can probably catch on somewhere.
  14. I wonder if he has a release clause because he isn't making the big squad.
  15. I knew it, just didn't care to name that shithole. It's not a nice experience at all. Rogers is far better
  16. I made it through most of the 2nd quarter before I just couldn't anymore. Not because they were behind at the time, it was just horrible basketball to watch. Not entertaining at all.
  17. Forbes just ranked Oriole Park at Camden Yards the 2nd best park in the majors behind AT&T Park and ahead of Busch Stadium. Rogers Centre was 22nd. No suprise really that the white sox park, Oakland, and Tampa were the bottom 3. https://www.forbes.com/sites/maurybrown/2018/03/19/ranking-all-30-of-mlbs-ballparks-first-to-worst/#280b31566be4
  18. I would agree with this assessment, I just feel the health bug is going to kill that dream and knock them back towards 80 wins
  19. The polite way of saying he propels himself at the pace of a glacier
  20. Sunday works best for me
  21. Lol... pair... that's not even worthy of effort. 5 minimum or gtfo

Safe to say that Seattle will be getting an expansion team very soon?
  23. While cool, what would really be nice is having phone plans in Canada that aren't complete gouging. The comparison between US and Canada cell/data plans is not even close.
