  1. Just a record contract for someone who is arbitration eligible.
  2. Option 1: hope he stays healthy and the Jays are clear sellers near the deadline so they can trade him for a return that is better than a comp pick in the 2019 draft. Option 2: hope he's healthy, all of Boston and New York players get stricken with polio and can't play in 2018 leaving the door open for the Jays to make the playoffs, and then lose Donaldson for nothing more than a comp pick in the 2019 draft. Option 3: hope he's healthy and signs a team friendly extension for 4 years max. Option 1 is really the only likely scenario here
  3. Lowry played his ass off tonight
  4. Damn, Lowry broke his ass.....
  5. Then you're dating the wrong women my friend.
  6. Yeah, that's what I was a getting at, which I don't think is ideal(not the Alford in AAA part... the Zeke being a FT player part). Punt Kendrys and his useless bat out the door, let Pearce DH and have Zeke on the bench with an average LF and you likely improve 2-3ish wins alone. Zeke plus Pearce are projected for 1.3 WAR, 1.3 of which is Pearce. Kendrys projects at .4 Lorenzo Cain would be the ideal addition if they went the FA route, stick him in LF. That would require giving up a pick though and probably too long a contract to ever happen. Pearce is bad enough defensive that he can DH without seeing much of a value hit,
  7. A Pearce/Zeke platoon in LF isn't ideal at all imo of they truly want to contend..but the bigger issue is no true backup CF. Zeke can play there in a pinch but I don't ever want him suiting up as a starter there for more than 1 or 2 games in a row and only due to injury. Find a way to dump Kendrys, let Pearce DH, Zeke to the bench and hopefully Alford is healthy and starts in LF. Then if Pillar goes down, Alford can go to CF and Zeke to a corner and bring up someone else to fill the bench role.
  8. It would be a nice stepping stone from 25th
  9. He's incredibly overrated defensively but offensively he's a surefire HOF any day of the week. The issue I think most have is that he's revered as some defensive wizard, when he was overall pretty below average and downright awful the majority of his career. The fact that he had such a great bat and played in New York cause many to give him way more credit for defense than he deserved, and is actually overrated as a result. The fact that Scott Rolen and Jeter finished their careers 1 WAR apart and 1 is talked about like he's the second coming of Christ and the other is just written off the HOF ballot likes he's nothing... shows that Jeter is in fact overrated, whilst Rolen is criminally underrated.
  10. Napoleon wasn't even short. He was actually average height for his time period.
  11. Go's...... f*** sakes
  12. Word is it's not serious.
  13. Found this wandering around twitter today, pretty good read on a former international prospect signing by the Jays that youve never heard of, that began a new way of how I termational free agents got paid. Really enjoyed it http://toronto.locals.baseballprospectus.com/2017/12/22/josephang-bernhardt-the-prospect-who-changed-international-free-agency/
  14. Hope your holiday is wondrous, special and safe. See you all in 2018
  15. When I saw him pitch for Vancouver he was downright fat. Looked like a bowling ball with limbs. Today's look is like night and day
  16. I don't see what you're looking at, bit if a loose fitting shirt maybe but he doesn't seem chunky at all
  17. Alford left today's Mexican League game with an ankle injury Hope it's not serious
  18. Might need to send him off soon though, arbitration deals for good closers can get expensive in a hurry. Why waste money on a closer now when their real window isn't gonna start until after his arm years are over and he's a free agent?
  19. I wish that Demar showed up more often. Not that he needs to score 45 points a night, but if he could actually be a consistent 3 point threat it would do wonders for his game. Hell.... 35% would be fine, he doesn't need to be a 40-45% sharpshooter
  20. If winning 45 games is your goal, that's a good way to start
  21. Obvious man pretending to be woman troll is obvious.
  22. Stroman is not a 30 million per year pitcher by a long stretch so it's not really worth worrying about
  23. Don't forget the best part, you can switch back and forth from identifying as a female or male, depending on how you feel that day.
  24. Seems like a win/win for both teams. Resets the luxury tax for LA ... gives Atlanta 1 year of possibly unshitty pitching and a backup SS, and they go off the books for 2019.
