  1. Still on vacation on the other side of the world. Crisped up at the beach this morning and now drinking the local brew, Phoenix beer. 2:30 in the afternoon here
  2. What you doing up at 2am?
  3. Maybe, but comparing salary systems in leagues like the NBA vs MLB is very different. 40 man rosters vs 12 ....
  4. I think it's pretty much an established fact that baseballs are juiced. MLB will never admit this of course, like they will never admit to knowingly allowing its players to juice when it benefitted them greatly, and subsequently threw them all under the bus when the winds changed and played dumb about it. If you can't juice the players, juice the balls.
  5. Holy crap, a Chappy sighting!
  6. In his favour he has nowhere to go but up.
  7. Good. Might be nice to hear intelligent insight rather than mumbly ranting about stuff that hasn't been relevant in 15 years
  8. Consider it a challenge, or experiment to see if can actually f*** brains into someone, rather than out. I think we should commission a study.
  9. Different looking bench ... meaning... A useful one? -.2 fWAR from those 1146 PAs is vomit inducing. They would project this year as the same, below replacement level. Their replacements project nearly 3 fWAR in about 750 PAs. Anyone trying to say this year's bench is worse (and I know that wasn't your stance by posting that tweet), is a f***ing lunatic.
  10. Hyperbole sure, but the 80 games thing...it would be a pleasant surprise to see him over 80 games of actual healthy ball.
  11. Obviously Mr and Mrs Walker did....
  12. Opening day 2019 maybe. I doubt he plays 80 games this season
  13. He also brought another young arm that failed that same year, then got traded to Colorado in the Tulo deal. Also, I'd rather see Jansen get full time action in AAA or AA than be nothing but a backup playing once a week. If they bring him north as a backup, that's essentially giving up on him being a full time player.
  14. Can't see why player agents are whining about contracts when guys like Hosmer pull down these types if deals.
  15. Both top guys have the same average ranking #1 on 2/3rds of the lists they appear on and #2 on the others
  16. Okay, but on what are you basing your opinion? Articles you've read about Tulo specifically stating he likes being seen as the go to player on his team and if he's not that guy he feels it disrupts his ability to play? If so, please link them. Otherwise it's just pure speculation with no basis in reality Which, btw if theres even a shrednof truth to your statement of opinion, why would he have waived his no trade clause and accepted a trade to Toronto when he did, knowing full well Jose and Edwin and Martin and Donaldson were already here and he wouldn't be seen as the man?
  17. How do you know he doesn't like being second fiddle? Which, btw he still is behind JD
  18. You know James is gone at the end of the year too, so I think this is just Cleveland's way of saying they are tired of his 1 year commitments and trying to piece a team around him 1 year at a time.
  19. Raptors valued at 1.4 billion per Forbes. 12th highest in the league Every team in NBA is worth at least 1 billion. NBA is looking up
  20. Haven't watched at all but being up 23 at the end of 3 is a pretty big deal. Is it just the Raps playing that well or is Boston just playing that bad? Bit of both?
  21. With the rhetoric being tossed around right now, is there anyway we don't see a work stoppage in 2021 for MLB? Hell, a strike seems to be a growing possibility at this point even sooner http://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/baseball-agent-rising-tide-among-players-radical-change/ And as usual since it's a sportsnet post, the comments section is full of retardation
  22. Weighted baseball training causes injuries and is dangerous for young arms according to this article and studies referenced. Also makes very clear that further study is needed https://www.topvelocity.net/weighted-baseball-training-causes-serious-injury/
  23. I doubt Lackey signs a minor league deal at this point in his career. He's 39. If he doesn't get a major league deal he'd probably just hang 'em up.
  24. Same, he will want a lengthier deal but just won't get it. I doubt he gets more than 2 years, with maybe an option from the team he eventually signs with.
  25. Can't wait to see the first Barton Colon commercials for the local BBQ shack.
