  1. Nothing wrong with his arm. Range maybe... but his arm is as good as it's ever been
  2. No, super 2 cutoff usually isn't until mid to late June depending on the year
  3. Vlad would be, the Jays wouldn't be. 10/150 is way too high given the cost certainty of 4 years at MLB minimum and 3 arb years with only 3 FA years to worry about. There would be no reason go anywhere near that high. Kingery was just signed for what could turn out to be a total of 9 years 66 million if all options are picked up. I get that Vlad is a much better prospect than Kingery, but he's not 1 year and 90 million better. There's still significant risk with any guaranteed deals to a guy who has never swung at a major league pitch, no matter how amazing his minor league numbers are. I would do 10/100 though, assuming the last 4 are team options in the 15-20 range. 6/40 for his first years is nothing to sneeze at. Donaldson, who was a Super 2 guy, ended up earning about 56 million over his arb deal years. 6/40 for unproven talent is plenty, and still probably a bit high. I'd like to see it though just because I'd rather see the young guys get paid while they are great rather than having to wait until they're 30+ and declining to try and lock down a long term massive deal
  4. I'm actually ashamed that I know he's quoting Justin Bieber lyrics at you
  5. Last 10 games... hitting .553 with the same amount of HR as walks and strikeouts.... 4 21 hits.... 7 multihit games. ... He's nearly hitting .500 for all of May ffs
  6. More hindsight. You're a tool. And they still won. So make like a tree.. and f*** off.
  7. Gibby message. ... "throw the f***ing ball over the f***ing plate. f***"
  8. 3/4 with 2 doubles and a 3 run HR.
  9. wow, 35 million in dead money. I had totally forgot about Craig and Gonzalez.
  10. Blame Boxcar he made me do it. In fairness though, by not playing... Gift made a great contribution to the game.
  11. I agree he's a legend because of the HR, but that shouldn't influence opinions of his overall play. Advanced stats like wRC+, wOBA etc (I'll exclude WAR because it really isn't a stat- it's a combination of stats which is designed to give a quick 1 shot look at a players contribution - which I agree isn't perfect, but is f***tons better than RBI totals) show exactly why Carter was overrated, and those stats are not subjective.
  12. Players of the day: Gift Ngoepe Honourable mentions: Maverik Buffo, Brock Lundquist, Brandon Grudzielanek, Alberto Mineo, Riley Adams, Bo Bichette, Vlad Jr, Dalton Pompey, Richard Urena, Rowdy Tellez, Danny Jansen
  13. This is normal for 20 year olds in AA though. It's not like his overall line isnt still extremely impressive.
  14. Yeah but who do send to the pen? Everyone in their rotation is suddenly a god
  15. Because Showalter is a genius.
  16. 2 for 4 with a HR and a walk today for Bo.
  17. why does everyone think everyone else needs to know every f***ing thought that passes through their head ... yay social media
  18. That is already the best post that you've ever made on this forum.
  19. Anyone looking for LULZ can check out this TSN made list of 20 prospects that lists them based on their previous 7 days of stats. Probably the most useless thing i've ever seen. https://www.tsn.ca/talent/future-watch-vlad-jr-continues-to-crush-double-a-pitching-1.1092982
  20. When it comes to Heimlich though... how would he even begin to fit in to any clubhouse in the majors .. or even the minors when a bunch of his teammates are gonna have kids around? How does a minor league team, whose entire existence relies upon family atmosphere and kids being at the ballpark run a guy out there with a child molesting record? it would be a PR nightmare. I don't care what anyone says, when you know there's a convicted child molester near, whether he's paid the price with jail time or whatever... he's going to be a pariah. No teammate with kids would ever trust bringing his kids around ever, whether they believe he's reformed completely or not. None of these guys will have any history with him prior, so the first thing anyone is going to think is "hey here comes the child molester." They won't see him as a person first, ballplayer/teammate second, convicted criminal third or whatever. It's especially true in child crime scenarios. And while Osuna's type of situation is beyond s*****, guys in MLB already have a history with him, probably really like him as a person and have some sort of foundation to build forgiveness from. Plus, as s***** as abusing women is, it's not abusing children and he'll be much more likely to be given second chances by the people around him and still be seen as a person and a ball player rather than a wife beater. Sure .. they'll still have it in the back of their minds all the time, but not like any crime relating to kids.
  21. PLayers of the Day: Gift Ngoepe Honourable mentions: Vlad Jr, Zack Logue, Kevin Smith, Kacy Clemens, Jonathan Davis, Cavan Biggio, Juan Kelly
  22. incredible hindsight. I know I would love it if my favorite team listened to the drunk fans in the bleachers for its in-game management decisions. This may become the new market inefficiency. You should submit these critiques to the Jays in writing. I'm sure they'd want to pick your brain more given your astounding hindsight abilities.
  23. Lol... It's now mandatory for players to stand for the anthem if they are on the field. ... but they can choose to stay in the locker room instead. What a gongshow http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/23582533/nfl-owners-approve-new-national-anthem-policy
