  1. Those are pretty much the same player.
  2. Given your forum name... and the recent posts made here I'd say you would fit right in.
  3. Tape them? You gonna wear out that VHS man!
  4. Wasnt able to get the box score from the DSL as the Jays MILB page was being a bitch this morning, but here's a wonderful snippet from the 5th inning. Players of the day: Chavez Young, Gunnar Heidt, Dwight Smith Jr, Lourdes Gurriel Jr, Honourable Mentions: Ryan Noda, Brock Lundquist, Joshua Palacios, Kacy Clemens, Eduardo Pinto, Jonathan Davis, Cavan Biggio
  5. Lol, yeah... listening to that back and forth gave me ear cancer
  6. Yeah, and then there's the other guy who said he wouldn't trade Gleyber for anyone else in the majors. Like.... not 1? I know it wouldn't be an easy deal to make but I'm sure there's something they could trade him for, not that they should....but to say there's nobody to trade for him isn't really defensible either.
  7. I'm guessing 150 PA at the earliest, if he's still red hot and there's a place for him to play at AA. One of Bichette or Biggio would have to have gone up by then
  8. Stroman finishes with 4.1 IP, 4 walks and 3 K I suppose the good news is his arm is still attached, because that's a s*** performance for a major league starter at High A
  9. Yeah, it's not disrespect to say DeRozan isn't a HOF calibre player. He just not. He's not even really worth a max deal, but the NBA has money falling out of its ass and they had to pay it to someone...they just gt stuck with the wrong guy.
  10. True, but before the last 7 games, he had a grand total of 0 - while still getting on base nearly 50% of the time.
  11. early candidate for post of the year, and it's only 1 word.
  12. Players of the day: Alberto Mineo, Jon Harris, Rowdy Tellez, Roemon Fields, Jason Leblebijian, Reese McGuire Honourable Mentions: Erickvi Celedonio, Kevin Vicuna, Ryan Noda, Miguel Hiraldo, Brandon Grudzielanek, Kevin Smith, Patrick Murphy, Dwight Smith Jr Ryan Noda has remembered how to swing a bat! June slash line .429/.486/1.000/1.486, and has an 11 game hit streak dating back to late May with 6 HR, 9 K and 7 BB
  13. Still need to get rid of Demar for anything to really matter, OR have a couple guys step their games up bigtime. Casey tried to implement a new strategy and it worked when they actually used it, but as soon as any adversity struck, there was Demar chucking 19 footers and turning it over trying to dribble. If Demar is still on the team next season and we see him carrying the ball up court for the last play of the quarters and halves all the time like under Casey.. I won't be watching. I've seen that show for 5 years and its garbage.
  14. My thoughts are I now use fangraphs for approximately 3 things. Looking up stats, the Fringe 5 series and occasional prospect rankings - though the latter is becoming increasingly useless. I don't care about reading anything else on a baseball statistics site. I'm sure that makes me a bad person to some, but they can go f*** themselves with the non-greased up barrel of a 44 ounce Louisville Slugger.
  15. The whole slot system is what I both love and despise about the MLB draft.
  16. Players of the day: Erickvi Celedonio, Samad Taylor, Anthony Alford, Jason Leblebijian, Darnell Sweeney Honourable mentions: Colton Laws, Kevin Smith, Reese McGuire, Roemon Fields
  17. They must be to start a 17 year old stateside rather than the Dominican Summer League
  18. Average power in the minors usually doesn't translate to average power in the majors. His absolute ceiling is average power, which would be awesome. I never said he has no power, that's you putting words into my fingers and building a nice little strawman to tear down. I concede that my choice of words stating "there's not much power there" was misleading, as what I meant to get across is that I don't expect above average power output in the majors and it's certainly not his calling card. However, as I said, the bar for catchers is low and you are right that he does drive the ball well for doubles. And yeah, Roemon Fields is completely devoid of power.
  19. There's way too many college guys for that though, some will be sprinkled into rookie and rookie advanced, while others may actually get some full season exposure, like some pen arms.
  20. Bear in mind when Fangraphs does it's rankings they always say all 60 FV guys are about the same rank, so technically all their 60 FV guys tied for 6th. But I think the main point here is why isnt a 65 or higher, seems kinda silly to me too given he's already having success in the majors while guys older or of equal age haven't made it yet.
  21. Bit of a conundrum for sure. His hit tool is legit, but there's not much power there at all. Speed obviously isn't a strength, but has an okay arm. Right now he's still projecting as a below average bat in MLB due to the lack of power, luckily the bar for offense at catcher isn't high. All those catcher intangibles has to be a strength or his bat won't play anywhere else.
  22. Chavez Young very quietly having a pretty good season in Lansing as a 20 year old. He's riding a .400 babip but that's only slightly high for his minor league career so far. HIs K rate has dropped, and walk rate gone up since 2016 with advancing levels. Might be something there someday. .327/.383/.483/.866 slash line with 69 hits, 17 doubles, 5 triple and 2 HR, 17 SB (8 CS). Last 10 games hitting .444 with more walks (7) than Ks(6).
  23. Players of the Day: Sean Reid-Foley, Jonathan Davis, Bo Bichette, Max Pentecost, Anthony Alford, Roemon Fields, Lourdes Gurriel Jr, Reese McGuire Honourable Mentions: Ryan Noda, Tayler Saucedo, Kevin Smith, David Jacob, Gunnar Heidt, Taylor Guerrieri, Tim Lopes
  24. Try my amazing pitching picks combining for -10
  25. Gives an idea of how dominant he can be when his command is on.
