The Scoop: Biggio’s 12 home runs in just 38 games has to rank as one of the biggest surprises of the 2018 minor league season. He hit 15 in three seasons at Notre Dame and was much more of a on-base machine than a power threat. But Biggio has junked the stance he used at Notre Dame. When he was there, he started with his hands far above his head in a stance that would not look out of place in the NPB. Instead, he starts with his hands set at shoulder level. A fifth-round pick out of Maryland last year, Smith is an excellent defender (he’s splitting time between shortstop and third base because Lansing also has shortstop Kevin Vicuna) who showed promising power last year, but it came with swing-and-miss risk. It would be an increase of pitching skill from 1-5 from opposing teams. In AA he may face a teams best pitching prospect in one game but then nothing but an assortment of career minor leaguers who've never sniffed the majors in others. At least at AAA he would get a more consistent challenge

I haven't personally used either of them but they appear to be legit not big budget options. I'd probably lean towards the Snowball

The NHL gave every advantage they could to the Vegas franchise for expansion hoping to make them instantly successful. Maybe not cup Champs successful, but they've hugely benefitted from the incredibly liberal rules around expansion this time around. I have no doubt this was done intentionally to make expansion look very favourable to other cities given the massive expansion fees any new tam pays, plus they wanted to make sure their new franchise doesn't struggle like every other one in the past that just ends being a drain on the league with constant money problems in 5 years. They also lucked into one of the best head coaches in the game in Gallant after Florida went full retard

An extreme flyball pitcher without any plus pitches or plus command doesn't project well to succeed at the majors. He's also sporting a babip against of .162 right now... which is 100% impossible to sustain. He could be a future pen guy though as his fastball/slider might play up in short stints.
