That’s right. The guy on deck has been their best hitter in the past 3 weeks. Never mind the completely obvious RH/Lh thing, the fact that’s Harper can hit any pitch 500 feet, whose GB rate gains RHP isn’t likely, that there was a base open to set up the double play with what would have been a right on right matchup with a guy who throws sinkers, Who has a 50% gb rate against a guy Who has a 50% gb rate and who DID hit a ground ball against him that very likely could have been two, or maybe only 1 at worst if the DP wasn’t turned. Yup, he’s been their best hitter over the past three weeks. f***ing idiot needs to be fired the millisecond this season is over and I almost hope the Jays lose every game for the rest of the season if it would guarantee his firing

    I don’t think most think that service time manipulation is great. People want to see the best players play regardless of service time. The problem is the CBA as it currently is invites the manipulation so teams can exert extra control over said players. Speaking for myself, I don’t see it as great - merely a necessary evil given the current rule set that I would gladly eradicate if I could.

    I think it’s the right move this time, Wags was definitely struggling and had already thrown 40 pitches in less than 2 innings.

    Borucki only threw 21 pitches so it wouldn’t be crazy to see him available for a key lefty matchup if it happens to come along and Kay is already used.

    Yes. Because Wags will likely be optioned after the game to get Anderson called up to start tomorrow and they might actually need Borucki and Kay tomorrow with all of Boston’s lefties. Waguespack will not be needed so may as well get as much from him as possible tonight and hope it’s not a disaster

    Managers don’t make roster decisions, GMs do. And if you have to send him down to the taxi squad to activate Chase Anderson, ya kinda have to do it. That’s probably why he’s gonna go at least 2 or 3 innings tonight and they saved Borucki a bit. They might need Borucki tomorrow, they will not need Wags
