    I think he actually stepped further towards first than Ryu did. They could really solve this issue with a simple solution too. Draw a line at 45 degrees between the rubber and the plate. If the guys footdoesn’t land on the side of the line towards first, or right on the line, balk.

    Well you were half right. Once the lead foot crosses his back leg there’s only 2 places he can go...home, or to 2b if there’s a runner there.

    Not correct, his lead foot can’t cross the rubber and he has to clearly step towards first. He can’t step towards home and throw to first. His foot landed maybe a foot off line from home

    Except we need to do some photoshop, replace Acuna with an ice cream machine, and change the ball in Vlads hand to a 50$ bill.

    Good thing we have options like long-time defensive 3B stalwart Joe Panik for Montoyo to put at the hot corner. His immense experience at 3rd is such a pleasure to watch.

    Jays pitch sequencing right now is driving me crazy....all these hitters getting balls 1 and 2 gifts because our guys insist on throwing first pitch sliders and changeups and end up out of the zone. The Rays know this and just spit on these first offerings.

    It’s not a big deal, it’s for this season only and makes total sense given the 60 game crapshoot schedule to try and recover some revenue. It’s not like this will be in place very year

    He was a junior, could have easily went back to school and went #1 again next year to some other team willing to give him the full slot. You don’t dick around the kind of talent that breaks Barry Bonds college records and would have set the all time College HR record if not for COVID. Why quibble over a few hundred grand when next year the slot is likely going to be even higher

    Billionaires arguing with millionaires over money paid to them by people making less in their lifetimes Than they do in one season, or in some cases a few weeks. The whole process is so out of touch that both sides need to pull their heads out of their asses, or nobody will be watching at all when they come back.

    We were talking about command pitchers being not what you want to target in the draft, and someone said something about Halladay being a command pitcher. We discussed this briefly about how Roy would sit 92-93 but could get to 95 whenever he needed to with ease. Then Alan said something about Roy really knowing what he was good at, and I said “ Flying a plane?”
