  1. And to think it's all due to Craig Biggio's son. You were clearly just being hard on him because you saw this coming.
  2. Texas' bullpen ERA is almost 5 after today. I foresee some really interesting playoff games in their future.
  3. The luck that the Rays have in finding holes is the most uncanny thing I have seen, probably in my entire life. Yancy Diaz in particular is the luckiest player in the league by far. I kind of wish he had to leave the game, f*** them and their ******** luck.
  4. Luis Torrens hits a routine grounder right to short to end the game. "LINE DRIVE!!! AND IT'S.....*sigh*....thrown to first. Too funny.
  5. This Mariners play by play guy is absolutely horrendous, probably the worst I've ever heard. He's like Hawk Harrelson on steroids. Loses it for routine plays and calls every player by their first name. That's OK sometimes like when Shulman does it, but the guy lacks professionalism to a huge degree.
  6. Why was Tim Mayza up at all, if not for that situation? I'm not usually too hard on Schneider, but this and the lack of a review on the Merrifield play certainly cost us the game. They also should have PH'd for Schneider with Horwitz and put him in LF. This loss is 100% on the coaching staff.
  7. That doesn't make me feel any better!
  8. I don't have PVR so I can't check, but he looks safe on every replay. Please tell me that's not the case so I don't lose it on Schneider for no reason.
  9. That doesn't tell the entire story, although I understand your point. He's much more patient with very little power against lefties.
  10. At least two thirds of those are stolen on the pitcher in mybopinion.
  11. Not offering a QO to Chapman would be a mistake.
  12. With a 127 wRC+ since May 22nd, he should certainly get regular at-bats against righties, but his steady defense at a variety of positions makes him more valuable as a utility player in my opinion. If we didn't have other options at 2B then sure, but we do, and he's been so good in his current role that I don't see a need for change.
  13. I can agree with that, but he's obviously improved to some extent. With advanced stats still being so unreliable for catcher defense, I find it best to balance them out and take the average. Even at 3 WAR, he's still performing well within expectations for a 'top 5 prospect'. I can't see how Arizona wouldn't be thrilled with his progression.
  14. Even the people who loved Moreno, like myself, find that he has met expectations with a 106 wRC+ and 4.1 bWAR as a rookie catcher. He's shown that he's elite defensively and there could be a lot more in the bat. JT Realmuto has hit at the same level as Moreno (as a rookie) in a full two thirds of his 9 year career. People forget how valuable that is from a catcher, especially one that can run and throw out >40% of baserunners, even with the new rules. I don't really even understand your comment. He's still a top 5 prospect from that class, even with the benefit of hindsight. He's met or maybe even exceeded expectations.
  15. Just looking at some of the other targets we had before the Varsho trade. Alek Thomas and Jake McCarthy would have been huge misses. Corbin Carroll would have been spectacular, obviously. Moreno was a similar calibre of prospect, both top 10 guys. I wonder how much more we would have needed to get him. Varsho has been a disappointment, obviously, but I still believe he's a useful piece going forward. This issue with this trade, as some pointed out, was that giving up an elite prospect for a non-superstar is almost always a mistake. Long term successful teams like the Dodgers don't make trades like that. They get guys like Mookie Betts for less than what we gave up.
  16. Very disappointing news for all baseball fans outside of Tampa. Why are they doubling down in a state where baseball clearly doesn't work? A real fanbase deserves to watch and cheer for that team.
  17. Closest players I can come up with are Kyle Tucker or E-sock Paredes.
  18. The study he referenced about DHCMT is pretty damning towards MLB. If legit, it shows how several players could have easily tested positive without taking the substance.
  19. That would be quite a coup for the FO. We've often had quite a bit of success when getting a top 5 player in an IFA class.
  20. They certainly do.
  21. I hope the new GM gets rid of Alex Cora and he gets blackballed, informally getting the ban from MLB that he deserves.
  22. It's really just an anomaly. This team is averaging 37k, which is 8th in the league and 5000 higher than last year.
  23. Go Jays go! Where is Joe Siddall and/or Caleb Joseph? I'm not a fan of this girl as an analyst. I think she would do well in Jamie's role, but I prefer a former player who knows the game as an analyst.
  24. The other day I got an ice cream at DQ and it was $5.75 so I gave the girl $10.75. She stares at the money for a few seconds and goes 'have a nice day!'. When I asked for my change, she had to go get someone to help. I was really embarrassed for her.
