  1. Marco Gonzales has less than 1 WAR over the past 3 seasons, spanning 61 starts. I think we can say that Bassitt is considerably better. The Mariners also have a below average offense and a considerably worse defense than us. We should be pretty strong favourites.
  2. Didn't get to see the game, but noticed that our pitchers struck out 10 of final 11 batters. Very impressive! Our relievers are actually striking out about 25% batters which is pretty good. They just need to cut down on the home runs.
  3. Minor league guns are notoriously unreliable. I wonder if this guy had his own or he's just BSing
  4. Are you the kid that got the gloves? You're too young to be on this forum.
  5. That can't be bad, but none of their 3 good relievers made an appearance, unfortunately. We'll get a heavy dose of Munoz, Sewald, and Brash. The good news is that they have 3 good starters and 2 s***** ones. We face the 2 s***** ones after Castillo in game 1.
  6. You can’t glean much from the stats, but the velocity is good to see. That's right in line with his norm.
  7. We should send the team's President Emeritus down there to sort things out.
  8. Fair enough, but I find that to be a little more speculative and difficult to assess than the few games where he has pulled a cruising starter with a low pitch count, only to have a reliever cough it up.
  9. I don't think you can judge it by innings per start alone. That can be a tool, but having watched each game, I think it's fair to say that he's cost us at least one win with bullpen mismanagement and early hooks.
  10. Vladdy - 1 Point - Grant Bichette - 1 Point - Chapman - 1 Point - Varsho - 2 Points - JaysBlue Springer - 2 Points - Dylan, bones10 Kirk - 3 Points - Omar Jansen - 3 Points - Spanky Merrifield - 5 Points - Jonn Espinal - 6 Points - JaysAllMighty Off the bench: 10 Points -
  11. Let's not forget the value of the money saved as well. We added his direct replacement in Kiermaier, as well as an additional ~4 million for deadline deals. It also helps us positionally, which I'm not entirely sure how to value. ZIPS has both Teo and KK pegged for 2.6 WAR, so it's a pretty slick bit of business if it plays out like that. We would essentially get Swanson, Macko, and some cash for nothing.
  12. If they lose again, maybe we can start passing around a hat for donations!
  13. xFIP adjusts for home runs and is 3.13 right now.
  14. Evidently, neither do the gold glove voters.
  15. No. The interviews are after great games for the player and wins for the team. Everyone wants the ice bath, the team is having a lot of fun.
  16. Yankees lose to Twins, who have already won their season series for the first time in over 20 years.
  17. They said that on the broadcast yesterday. Pretty crazy.
  18. He's so alike and athletic for a 1B. If Andres Galarraga hadn't claimed it, 'the big cat' would be an appropriate nickname.
  19. Players like Triston Casas lose prospect status after a certain amount of time in the majors. He's playing like an A-ball prospect, but that doesn't make him one. That's what I meant when I said games have been played, but you also can't ignore a poor start for all of their guys, except Yorke. We're lucky they don't update lists monthly, as they would be in the 20s and it would have denied us this wonderful opportunity to expose just how stupid you really are, as you continue to erode what little credibility you had with an enticing blend of pure idiocy and stubbornness.
  20. Jays WIN!!! Rays LOSE!!! Orioles LOSE!!! Yankees LOSING!!! Great day all around. Go Oilers!
  21. I know we're 5 games back with a win, but the guys on the field can't control that. This was our toughest month on the schedule, we've played a full two thirds of our games on the road, and we're 15-9. I don't know how we could have hoped for more.
  22. Games have been played since those rankings came out, Jim. People think I'm stubborn, but you really take the cake. A BJMB poster has not been made to look as stupid as you in a long time, without a leg to stand on and roasted by multiple others. You haven't contributed a single useful thought. Go away.
  23. Why is Pearson on the team if he's not warming up in this situation?
  24. The second most innings per start in April and Schneider has somehow managed to burn out the bullpen. That's crazy.
  25. I'm well aware of when the rankings came out. They include multiple players who are no longer prospects. They are a snapshot in time and no longer useful. Look at the updated list below for a, not perfect, but far more accurate snapshot. https://www.mlb.com/prospects/redsox/ Actually look at the list from 6 on and it's an absolute joke. A couple of older pitchers who profile as middle relievers at best and a bunch of raw A-ball outfielders who look really overmatched so far this year. Laika outlined some of the concerning trends from Rafaela and Blais that have always been present and have gotten worse this year, as they are both off to poor starts while repeating a level. Everyone in this thread agrees that you have it very wrong and those are the reasons why. You undoubtedly know that you are incorrect if you follow prospects at all and that's why you haven't added a single substantive thought about a single prospect throughout this conversation.
