  1. I can't remember a better spring training performer than Bautista. He's almost literally the best in the league every year.
  2. Time to send Pillar to minor league camp and give our regulars some more PT.
  3. Gameday isn't correct, he's surely over 60 with the command issues he's had so far, probably 70.
  4. How far do they stretch Sanchez? Might be smart to pull him after 5 while he's feeling good and save some bullets for August/September.
  5. Big bomb for Lawrie, hopefully that teaches Gose a lesson in baserunning that he so dearly needs.
  6. I agree. The offer was a combination of connor insisting on trading picks, his history of overpaying with futures, and the low value I place on a pick that probably doesn't net a top 100 prospect, judging by your DDL draft.
  7. That's extremely helpful, seriously. I was really unclear on what I could expect. I don't place much value on the pick, but that's no reason for me to accept anything less than market value in return.
  8. What kind of return would you expect for the 5th pick in your league? There seems to be a quite a disparity between actual and perceived value. I'm considering moving mine in the BBDL.
  9. Would one of you do me a favour and post results from your July draft? I just want an idea of what will be available if I deal for picks. Thanks in advance!
  10. Unfortunately, I did. I got a good 4 round bargain on him in hopes that he was healthy.

The question I always ask myself when looking at a coaches flaws is, are you going to get someone better? I think he's done an above average job on the whole and still has some room to grow. It's probably not worth the risk of getting rid of him. Too many good coaches have been run out of town, only to be succeeded by an inept replacement that sets the team back.

I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you, but having a separate bench unit works just fine for the Spurs so it's not a universally bad strategy. The starters all leave in the second quarter and the Ginobili/Diaw unit comes out.The difference is that the starting Duncan/Parker unit is the best in the NBA on a per minute basis and usually exits with a 15+ point lead. Often times they don't even have to come back out.
  13. The worst of his crimes was signing with Boston.

Anybody else find it comical/sad that the Raptors would be in 10th place and out of the playoffs in the west? Poor Phoenix is 36-27 and may miss the playoffs.
  15. The Braves interest probably explains why he backed out of our deal. I'm a little disappointed, but didn't really want him to begin with.

My Spurs are the top team in the league again after that ridiculous rash of injuries. Hoping the Raptors can somehow navigate their way through the East and meet San Antonio.

Outside of Kevin Love getting 31 in 2010 and Dennis Rodman topping 30 a number of times with the Spurs and Pistons, it's a pretty rare accomplishment.
  18. Even if the program works, it's unlikely he'd get any results until 2015, so he'd likely go elsewhere before we got any value.
  19. Fernandez, Delgado, Halladay, Cheek I went with a combination of longevity and excellence to narrow it down, so difficult. Stieb and Alomar deserve it too, maybe Joe Carter. Can't go wrong with a combination of those seven.
  20. I like that the rules will prevent unnecessary collisions, but I think that catchers should have the option to block the plate in key situations. Seeing which players are willing to step up and put their body on the line for a win is a part of sports that I enjoy. It's like blocking shots in hockey, going the extra mile for your teammates. I'm not going to criticize those with a different opinion, player safety is also important. It's just what I enjoy watching.

The Spurs are my favourite team and I watch about half of their games. De Colo had plenty of chances to win a spot over a pretty mediocre Cory Joseph and never really came close. Coach Pop gave him the freedom to be a playmaker when Ginobli was on the bench and still nothing. This trade should end up being inconsequential for both teams in my opinion. I was just happy to save some money to add a buyout guy like Granger and to get a cheap spot-up shooter with length who can replace Bonner going forward.
