Sounds to me like they were pissed off that he didn't sign and decided to reveal that he used an agent. Kind of the same thing we did to James Paxton but on purpose.
This will either make guys afraid not to sign with the Phils or cause players to resent them and not sign, I'm not sure yet.
Could be missing something, but A.J. Cole is the most glaring omission I see. Young in the high minors, 95+ mph fastball, lots of K's, very few walks. Breaking ball needs work, but he K's advanced hitters with ease.
The addition of a young 2B at a reasonable cost would bring them to a C+/B- rating in my opinion. I can live with Hutchison as the 5th starter, but Goins at 2nd is flat out unacceptable.
Does anytone else think the longer this charade continues in Seattle, the more likely it is that we get Ackley or Franklin? There's no way a defensive conscious team plays Ackley in the outfield or Franklin at shortstop.
The Jays and whoever is playing Boston are in a virtual tie.
I've always liked Milwaukee for their strong Canadian presence and Oakland for the way they build their teams.
I think healthy and typical elite level performances from Dickey, Bautista, and Reyes will let everything fall into place and allow us to compete. We can deal with things like Goins and a shaky 5th starter when the key players are in the lineup and doing their job.
Worked for Brett Cecil. Seems everyone I'm wrong about has these big and unexplained velocity drops. Maybe I should just subtract 5 mph from every scouting report.
Deinitely Zach Stewart. He had the strikeouts, great control, groundball stuff, the total package. Keith Law clocking him at 95+ in a minor league playoff game just put me over the top.
Then he comes up here throwing 88, I don't know what happaned. I would have loved to see him at peak form.
The Clippers were just beating the sixers 83-33 near the start of the third, I can't recall ever seeing a 50 point lead. Could have been more than that at one point, I didn't look closely.
Parker leaves with an injury for the Spurs and they still win. That's the 4th starter to go down recently along with the league's top 6th man. Who would have guessed Duncan is the only healthy starter? That guy is simply unbelievable.
EVery player understands that. For me as a player, I'd find stuff like pitch fx more useful as a tool to understand how to approach at-bats. Sometimes you just don't realize all of those curveballs are out of the zone. Just thinking you need to walk more and K less doesn't do anything.
