  1. I'm not sure that home runs will ever be a big problem for Sanchez, but a ~4 ERA is what I projected in the offseason and most people, including you, thought that was out to lunch. Nice to see some recognition that I got it right.
  2. If it were any other pitcher, the fact that a young guy can make quality starts with 1 pitch would be encouraging.
  3. Sanchez is still getting more groundballs than Stroman despite that game plan. Not saying he's better or anything, but the increased K's haven't changed his contact profile.
  4. I'm hoping we can end the experiment long before then. I didn't like the signing from the start.
  5. I'm sure his .167 BABIP will continue all year. Better trade him to one of those foolish teams who think it will be .300 or so.
  6. lol @ people relegating Storen to middle reliever status after one week.
  7. Gibby managing the bullpen perfectly. It's not up for debate.
  8. Several people made similar posts, just a general comment.
  9. You guys are acting like 3.2 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, 3 BB, 2 K is a great line or something.
  10. I was pretty impressed with Dickey yesterday, especially for an April start. Don't be fooled by the bottom line results.
  11. I'm going to get real sick and tired of whiny bitches like Pedroia asking for the slide rule every time they can't make an accurate throw.
  12. Probably 17-26 on any given day. One start hasn't changed much for me. I knew he was capable of being a solid starter.
  13. Oh yes, let's use FIP for a single start. The 8 inning gem against Houston was one of the best pitched games on the team all season. He had 2 walks and 7 K's in a start against Boston if that's your thing. His first start this year may have been a bit better, but let's not pretend that he hasn't looked like a dominant SP for stretches. The only reason this narrative comes up is so people who were wrong can use the 'he's a different pitcher, no one could have seen this coming' line.
  14. He had a couple of outings like this right before his DL stint last year. I was really disappointed that he got hurt, you could see him turning the corner.
  15. Nothing Gibby has done would lead me to believe that.
