    I'm just not convinced that Coghlan is still the player that his career numbers would suggest. It's possible, but we'll never really know unless he gets another starting gig.

    Fair enough. I'm​ a little concerned that Coghlan is toast though and Carrera is a pretty stable player that is already at 0.3 WAR, probably 0.4 now.

    I'm not at all convinced that Coghlan brings a better bat to the table than Carrera, not to mention Zeke's better defense and speed.

    Umpires remind me a lot of when I was a park warden in college. You get these guys who get a taste of power and turn into complete and total *******s. They ruin the experience for everyone, but get rewarded for issuing a lot of tickets. The level headed people who address issues professionally get ignored or get in trouble.

    How does this even happen? There is no room for interpretation. Travis is in the box, there is no intent to interfere. The umpires are wrong. Get out the f***ing rule book and make the correct call.

    This is outrageous. I don't understand how umpires make it to the pinnacle of sports when they don't understand the basic rules.

    I'll be watching to see if this umpire gets suspended. It happens from time to time, but they don't publicize it. What he just did is certainly deserving of a suspension.

    Other angles show the tag, but that one kind of sucks.

    What's the conspiracy theory? The replay system sucks and doesn't usually result in the correct call?

    I can't wrap my head around deferring to the original call when we know with >99% certainty that he was out. I get it on plays where there is some doubt, but this is just absurd.

    I don't understand why we even use replays when they just defer to the wrong call. He was unquestionably out, but they are too afraid to overturn for fear of making the umpires look bad.

    The drug he got caught for is used to treat the side effects of anabolic steroids, but is not really an effective performance enhancer on it's own. That's interesting.

    Jason Leblebijian may be playing himself into a future major league role at an advanced age. If the bat can be passable, he plays solid defense at multiple positions. There is some BABIP noise, but it looks like he figured something out last season and has carried it over into 2017.

    The trade is most certainly a steal either way, but it sure would be nice to have some depth at LF and C. I am still hoping that McGuire earn some time as our ML backup later this season.

    The returns from the Liriano trade are off to an awfully rough start. Hopefully they can get it together since we desperately need depth at both positions.
